Classic Rock Bottom

This weeks album, like many in my Progressive Rock collection comes highly recommended by my friend who eats, breaths and sleeps Progressive Rock. I haven't heard of this band before so I had to rely on the press release found in the liner notes. The first track, with it's 24 minutes length is something of an epic proportion, divided into 4 parts. With their intensive music full of ideas and melodies the four musicians succeeded to convince first the radio DJs and finally a big record company. It was a novelty then to produce a band from Stuttgart (as opposed to Hamburg, Berlin or Hanover.)

They were friends with Alexis Korner, a British Blues musician who gave them a chance to open for his concerts. Adonis is the first of six albums released by the band before they parted. After their reunion, in 2000 they recorded few more albums. By the looks of it something is brewing again in the camp. Perhaps a new release? I'm not sure, but their official site is vaguely informing us of something coming soon (whatever that might be).

Finally getting around to listen to, (for the first time) some music I've been putting aside (for years). Including, things from the past I recently discovered, projects I previously had, but replaced with a newly remastered version, or those simple cases, were my last years order didn't arrive on time.

I like it, got a touch of British Folk in there!
Mike

The first time I listened to the CD, I was convinced I'm listening to a British band, until I read the booklet.

Thanks for the input, Mike.

Had me fooled too, until I read it, lol!
