Alright, so this is sort of a re-post. For those who have been with us since we posted on Classic Rock Revisited's site, this would be a re-post, although I have to rewrite everything because I have no access to the old posts. For anybody that's new, this would be a new post. All of the albums posted over there as AOTW deserve to be re-posted, and they may be one day. For right now, here's what I'm gonna do. Since there are now eleven months left in 2011, I'm gonna count down my favorite 11 albums that were posted there. I'll post one album per month until we get to my favorite of the bunch in December. Each one I post will be titled with it's place in my Top 11 and will be noted that it's from Classic Rock Revisited (CRR).
So, all of that being said, this weeks album comes in at number 11 on my list. It's Black Sabbath's second studio album, Paranoid from 1970. The album had two singles, Paranoid and Iron Man. Paranoid did very well on the charts, but not so much for Iron Man. Both are outstanding songs, with Iron Man having one of the all-time great riffs. While I don't think there is a bad song on this album, my favorite album cuts would be War Pigs/Luke's Wall (I really love the sirens in the intro for this song), Planet Caravan (really psychedelic vocals), Electric Funeral and the instrumental Rat Salad.
You can't go wrong with this album, so if you don't already own it, you should go buy it. You can get the basic CD, which is what I have, for 9 dollars new on Amazon, or the Deluxe Edition with a DVD for 26 bucks. By the way, the artwork is very crappy, in my opinion of course.
Best Single (my opinion of course): Iron Man (the riff and jamming are just to good, no matter how many times you've heard it).
Best Album Cut (my opinion): War Pigs/Luke's Wall
Most Likely To Skip: Hand Of Doom

Cool album! I do recall the original post, so I guess that makes me a legacy, kinda like.. Flounder? hahaha
I think my hidden gem is the final track "Fairies Wear Boots", actually thats my favorite all the way around on this one. VH1 has showcased this on their Classic Albums series as well, catch that on the DVR if you can!
