This week I present to you a band that you know absolutely nothing about, probably.  Tantric basically formed out of the ashes of Days Of The New, another band you are not familiar with.  Three members from Days got together with Hugo Ferreira and thus Tantric was born.  The self-titled debut went platinum and you didn't even know it, maybe because you think they suck.  I guess I'll know the answer to that soon.  The lead single Breakdown reached number 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, but you've never heard it.

If there is one thing I can say with certainty about Tantric, that is that nobody else really has their sound.  It's largely acoustic, although they do mix electric guitars in as well.  I think the vocalist has a good voice, quite different from most singers today.  It gets a bit irritating from time to time, but all in all I think this is a fantastic album, easily the band's best to date.  If you absolutely can't bring yourself to listen to this whole album, at least listen to Breakdown, Mourning and Astounded.  These songs are phenomenal.

Not sure what to think about this.  I started listening and then starting skipping around searching for someting I liked and cant find it ...  This is not my cup of tea...

I did think the play on the word Revolution as Revillusion was cool, though the song wasnt.

Really the only other thing I got out of this was a reminder of that awful Tantric song on Journeys new album.

I've heard this album when it first came out, also have all three of the Days Of The New albums which are really good. They're kind of like acoustic metal which is a bit strange to describe it that way. This album got quite a bit of airplay, at least in Omaha.

But, even though I liked Days of The New, I never bothered to pick this up. Don't know why, but it could have been because it was overplayed, but I'm not sure. It's not bad at all, but I lean more towards DOTN.
I listended to this once, on a pretty busy day, so hope to go back and listen again when I can give it more attention. But after one interrupted listening, I would say that the music is ok, but I'm not too fond of the vocals. Sounds kind of monotone to me. But still an interesting listen, and I'll give it another spin soon.
