The Verdict
Usually a band that is described as "modern rock" makes me shiver in disgust because the music is typically whiny, self-indulgent and barely adequately played.
I'm happy to report that this is not the case here. It's a solidly crafted album with 5 of the 10 songs being outstanding. The music is fantastic. There's great guitar work and a real spotlight for the drummer to beat the heck out of the skins. The band knows how to construct a hard rocking song.
The best songs are "By Now", "Tomorrow", "Conversation" and "Got It All Wrong".
One thing I did notice is that the vocals tend to get a bit buried in the overall sound at various points throughout the album.
Still, the album is a pretty good listen and it lives up to the billing of being a rock and roll album.
