Classic Rock Bottom

This week we jump ahead 24 years for Rose Tattoo's 2002 release titled "Pain", their first studio album in 17 years.

To be perfectly honest, if you didn't like the previous albums posted on this here site, you probably won't like this one. It's raw and messy, but still features tons of that good ole slide geetar.

I've read comparisons to Nazareth and Led Zeppelin (?) with some of the songs off this album. Nazareth I get, but Zeppelin? Maybe I'm missing something here.

You've hopefully heard the previous two albums here, so you know what you're getting into! Do yourself a favor and stick with this album all the way thru. It might start off rough, but there are some excellent songs on here.

Pain

1. Black Magic
2. The Devil Does It Well
3. No Mercy
4. Pain
5. Kisses And Hugs
6. Seventeen Stitches
7. House Of Pain
8. I Can't Help If I'm Lucky
9. Union Man
10. Satan's Eyes
11. Hard Rockin' Man
12. Stir Crazy
13. Living Outside My Means
14. Heat Of The Moment
15. Illustrated Man
16. One More Drink With The Boys

Availability: OOP, but a 10 spot can nab you this.

Wow!  That's a great list of musicians!  Angry, Stork, Lobby, Digger, Mick ... It reads like a Who's Who of the Outback Creek pub in suburban Sydney!

Still don't get it.  I will admit that there is a ton of slide guitar all over this album.  But it doesn't help the album as far as I'm concerned.

Im agreeing with RJ, lots of cool geetar work, just nothing that really grabs at ya...

You know who does cool ACDC like music?  Def Leppards High N Dry, now that's some quality ACDC sound-a-like

This just reminds me of good time bar scene jammin', nothing arena about it...

You know who does some great ACDC like Arena rock and roll?  Krokus, now that works in an arena

I wonder how long it takes Rose Tattoo to write a song, 5, 10, 15 minutes?

You know who writes a well thought out ACDC like tune?  Airbourne, they do write some solid ACDC like riffage

They don't seem to change over time and through lineups either...

You know who came into their own after sounding like ACDC?  Accept, they really stepped up and became a solid band

This?  This is just good time drinking, pissing, cussing, puking, and then drinking some more rock and roll...

You know who does some really good drinking, pissing, cuss....  Ah, nevermind!  you get the point...

I didn't expect you guys to like this one much, it's a bit messy. However, the next album you have to like. Believe me. Really.

It must be somebody other than Rose Tattoo...

Nope!
