Classic Rock Bottom

And it continues.....

First though, let's discuss the album cover. What does it mean? Could that being be the unmasked entity from the "Argus" cover? Are the turbines symbolizing the Flying V geetar or is there a deeper meaning? What about the ring?

"The Power Of Eternity" was released in 2007, 5 years after last week's pick and one year after next week's pick (I went out of order, so sue me).

Now, for those who don't like the vocal stylings of Andy Powell, well, I'm sorry because he sings all the songs here. I like his singing, it's something you have to grow into I think.

But why am I talking about the vocals? As you have come to know the last few weeks, it's all about the geetars. And there's plenty of those here. Nothing really heavy, pretty much laid-back but rocking.

With this album released 37 years after their debut you still gotta give this band credit. Granted there have been many, many different members with the constant being Andy Powell, but to still put out quality music like this so many years later is certainly admirable, especially when the music doesn't suck.

I like this one!  I see RJ's point on the vocals and I see Jon's!  I like 'em so I think the more I'm listening the more that I am getting this bands MO!  Couple of tracks didn't work out well for me and the album is very mellow at points as well.  The geetars don't save the music as well as they have in some of the previous albums Jon posted, but the music is solid and melodic.

And to Mikes point, this is no sequel to Argus!  For sure we haven't heard anything that comes close to equaling that one yet.  And yet somehow Jon keeps saying there's one that's better, we'll shall see!

One last thing... the album cover is very "middle school art", I just don't care for the album cover.

Nice series and nice post.
