Classic Rock Bottom

A soundtrack? A Who album? A Roger Daltrey solo album? Maybe all three?

This week is the OST from 1980's "McVicar", a decent movie if I remember correctly. Haven't seen it in awhile so my remembrance may be a bit cloudy (I do know that it's not one of those disgusting women-in-prison flicks). But the music is good, and that's all that counts here.

This would have been a nice fill-in for people waiting for something from The Who since the last album was released in 1978 and, with the death of Keith Moon, the status of The Who was pretty much up in the air. So this kind of serves as a bridge between "Who Are You" and "Face Dances" released in 1981.

Featuring the remaining members of The Who and Kenny Jones as well as a slew of other artists, it' a good mixture of some hard rock, 80's synth stuff and a few ballads.

McVicar

1. Bitter And Twisted*

2. Just A Dream Away*

3. Escape, Pt. 1

4. White City Lights

5. Free Me*

6. My Time Is Gonna Come*

7. Waiting For A Friend*

8. Escape, Pt. 2

9. Without Your Love*

10. McVicar*

Availability: Can be found for around 7+ bucks.

MSoTW: Scott "guessed" Stratovarius before the player got sent to the internet trash can. This week's might be hard, maybe not. Especially not for those who use sites to look up lyrics. You know who you are.

First time using this so let's see if this works...........................

It don't really work. I only get into Podsnack, not to your playlist?
Try it now, see if it works. Guess you can't have two podsnack windows open causeit does weird stuff.
I'm only getting to podsnack as well, not the player.
Argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Try it now
Yep, that's better. I'll have to listen later, but I'm looking forward to this one.
It works fine now. I have a friend that played "Mcvicar" over and over again for about a year or so, so i've heard it a few times. Not a bad album, especially "Free me". I've also seen the movie, and as far as I remember, it was pretty good too.

I have absolutely NO idea who MSoTW#15 is!!!
MSoTW is really scraping the bottom of thre barrell. Our methods are getting to Jon, and he is puffing his chest out now. I'm out on this, no clue, nothing sounds familiar and frankly, I hope I dont ever here that song again (LOL)

Its been a very long time since I heard McVicar. I love The Who and Daltery is Aces with me as a rock vocalist. There was a period of time between Whos Next and Who Are You that he was untouchable (in my opinion).

Free Me is still awesome!

And as a footnote, Im liking the podsnack stuff better for two reasons, better quality players and templates and load time is fast!!!
Scraping the bottom of the barrell? Man, you are gonna eat your words when you find out who it is.
No clue on the MSoTW...are you surprised?

This is an outstanding Lost/Forgotten album. As a matter of fact, I never even knew it existed. And I thought I knew a little bit about music, but I'm sadly mistaken. Anyway, I really enjoyed listening to this. Great post Jon.

I'm with Scott on Podsnack, I like it a lot better. Plus I can now listen at work.

On a side not, I hope everybody checks out my request over on the request thread (it's related to The Who).
I've used sites to look up lyrics, so now I know who it is!!!!
Is it scraping the bottom of the barrel according to someone here?
