Have you ever watched a movie and there's a song or two that grabs your attention and you jut have to go out and either find the soundtrack or an album by the artist(s)? No? Really? That's never, ever happened to you? I find that a bit odd.
I'm happy and confident in myself to say that's it happened to me twice. Ok, twice that I can remember. The first time was when I watched "Desperado" and just had to get the song featured during the last gunfight. It sounded like AC/DC, kind of reminding me a bit of their instrumentals in the much-maligned but totally brilliant opus, "Maximum Overdrive" (paraphrasing here but per Stephen King, he set out to make a moron movie and did exactly that. That's why it's so brilliant).
Well, the song featured during the "Desperado" shootout wasn't AC/DC but rather Tito & Tarantula. They also had two other songs on the soundtrack which also featured Mark Knopfler, Los Lobos, Carlos Santana and others. A recommended buy.
A year later another fine movie came out, "From Dusk Till Dawn". And whaddya know, there was Tito & Tarantula again, this time playing the band at that bar which I will not name here for fear of offending someone (Tito also had a small part in "Desperado" as well). Again I liked the music so went out and bought that soundtrack as well, which also featured The Blasters, Jimmie Vaughan, SRV, ZZ Top and others. Another recommended buy.
A year after that I found a Tito & Tarantula album, "Tarantism", which is featured this week. It's a mixture of blues, hard rock, roots rock, ballads with a bit of punk thrown in here and there. Nice album to put into rotation during that outdoor barbecue, would go nice with a a cold drink. And celery sticks.
Oh yeah. The second time I had to have a song from a movie was when I watched "28 Days Later". Just had to find out who was behind that song playing when he was wandering around the desrted streets of London. And find out I did.

The latest mystery song (now known as MSoTW) is EASY. No reason why ANYONE can't figure out who it is. I've also included the track mentioned above from the "Desperado" soundtrack, "White Train (Showdown)", as an added bonus! Enjoy!
