So I went to see Lemmy and the boys last Friday night in Kitchener, Ontario. My second fav band next to The Coop. Small tight venue that held, maybe, 3000 maniacs. First opener were Valient Thorr who I only saw about 30 seconds of. No big deal, didn't care, don't miss em. Next opener were Clutch. Now although I have heard of them, I haven't actually heard any of their stuff. This has been a mistake on my part. CLUTCH ARE FABULOUS. Great tight stoner rock sound. Just the groovy kinda shit I enjoy. Then comes Lemmy, Phil and Mickey. And they kicked some serious ass. First thing I need to mention is they were loud. I mean real bloody loud. REALLY BLOODY LOUD. Are ya feelin' me.
They opened with We Are Motorhead. Then Phil asked that all too important question "Is it loud enough?" Well, you guessed it. It wasn't, so they now cranked it right the f**K up. HOLY CRACKED STERNUM did it ever get loud. My ears were still buzzin' 2 days later.
Highlites for me personally was my fav Motorhead tune Killed By Death, and a screaming fast version of Overkill as an encore. It was a killer good time.
Setlist as follows:
