Here is a new song from the forthcoming EP.  The band is releasing a full length album later this year (in other words, we'll give you 4 new songs next week, and those same songs with a few more later this year so we can make more money).  But I digress, here is the new song:

Very typicals ZZ Top, and I kinda like it...I'll say SMASH.

I love me some ZZ Top. Their 70's output is still the best, but I like some of their 80's and forward stuff, as well.

On a side note, the 1959 Gibson Les Paul that Billy Gibbons has is the guitar he has used on every single ZZ Top song ever recorded...at least up until now. My guess is, he still used it for this latest release. But, Gibson has now gone back and manufactured new replica's of this amazing, awesome sounding guitar.

Gibbons calls it "Pearly Gates", and the new replicas have been made INCLUDING the dings and scratches that are on Gibbons actual guitar. That's right, the brand new guitar replica comes complete with dings and scratches.

Oh by the way...if you'd like one for yourself, Gibson's "suggested retail price" is ONLY $15, 294. But you could probably make a deal with a Gibson dealer, and only have to pay $14000 plus...and hey, it includes a hard shell case!!

I was thinking about your comment about ZZ releasing that 4 song EP, and then later on, a full release. It does seem like a "money grab"...but it may be that they just want to have some new music released for this summer tour their starting.

They play Atlanta next Sunday with 3 Doors Down, and...Gretchen Wilson???? They are calling it the "Gang of Outlaws" tour!

Either way you look at it, if those 4 songs are on the full album, then you have to pay twice.  Now, if the album has 9-10 new songs without these 4, then I'm cool.  But I don't like these cash grabs.  It's the fans that still buy the music that pay the price.

STASH. Good guitar as usual. No, great guitar from Billy Gibbons, but a forgettable song.

TRASH--this does nothing for me, just seems really scattershot. Geetar is good, but the song kinda sucks.
