SMASH OR TRASH--DOKKEN "EMPIRE"

Seen this posted on another site and was trying to avoid it since Don Dokken all but abandoned support for this album and his Dokken brand... so in taking a queue from him, if he thought it wasn't worth supporting then I wasn't interested in listening.  So thanks, now I have to!

And man, I'm totally confused with Dokken now, why would he abandon his best sounding work yet?

I liked it!  SMASH for me...  it's a shame it wont go anywhere...

STASH for me.

I think musically it sounds okay but surprisingly I think Don Dokken's vocals are weak on the song.

I like it. I haven't listened to newer or older Dokken in some time. You still must miss George Lynch, but this is still good! GREAT!

Smash. Sounds like classic Dokken. But agree with TR, vocals are not bad, but definitely lower register and not as strong as classic DD.

I like it. I've always liked Dokken, and think they are one of the best 80's, hair bands. I like them a little more than say, Ratt or Motley Crue, Great White, etc. Don Dokken has always has excellent musicians in his band, especially on guitar.

George Lynch, Reb Beach for one incredible album (only one though), and Jon Levin is really good, too.

But I would like to know what Scott is talking about? What have you heard about Dokken abandoning th band?

BROKEN BONES THE LAST DOKKEN ALBUM?:
Word has it that the new Dokken album Broken Bones will be the last Dokken album. In an interview Don Dokken with Geir Amundsen for Norway Rock Magazine, Don stated that he is fed up, and has already started a new project with Michael Schenker(!). Interesting. The interview will be in the magazine's next issue. Stay tuned...

Jon Levin is really good, but it doesn't seem like Dokken without George Lynch. Where's Don Dokken's high pitched vocals? Is that the best he can do, after all those years of smoking? The disappointment of no George Lynch is overshawdowed by Don Dokken's lackluster vocals. I kept waiting for him to belt it out in traditional Dokken style, but it never happened. I love Dokken, but vocally this is just ok for me. I will give props to Levin for the guitar work.

So, I'm going with STASH.
