Spot on analysis TR.  The hits are truly great songs.  Shaw and Blades in particular are a good combination.

Thanks RJhog! I have a copy of Don't Tread on cassette so I'm going to do that album as a Cassette Chronicles article someday.

Oh,and because I noticed some issues with this particular cassette, I ended up picking up a copy of the album on CD to replace it.

Damn Yankees were one of the 3 supergroups of whose formation I learned at the dusk of the '80s and was eagerly anticipating the quantum leap.

After endlessly waiting for any of the record companies back home to release Mr. Big & Badlands, when Damn Yankees came around I went to the guy who owned a CD renting business and sold him my kidney in exchange for those 3 albums.

Needless to say, my excitement went through the roof when he finally arrived with them. In fact, I don't think I ever scored 3 albums I liked as much as these. The hype in the media was huge prior to the releases, but they did not disappoint. At the time I got those LPs my ranking would have been:
1. Mr. Big
2. Badlands
3. Damn Yankees

Now it's:
1. Damn Yankees
2. Mr. Big
3. Badlands

Interesting you posted this album right now. I just acquired the Rock Candy reissue on CD. (BTW, this is the 3rd time I bought the project. Also had it on an older version CD). The remaster sounds great.

However, as much as I like the first Damn Yankees album (and I think it's obvious how much I do) I'm absolutely flabbergastered by the sophomore release. It has all the melody and fiery guitar theatrics from the first one, except... On adrenaline.
