Maybe it's just me, but it seems to me like the brand new Cheap Trick album is full of attitude. Maybe because of all the band has been through in the last few years, maybe not, but I hear music with an attitude. And that's the same thing I feel with the band's 1985 release Standing On The Edge. The album only reached number 35 on the Billboard chart, but that actually ranks third among the first 8 studio albums. Once again no certification was attained and only one of the singles charted. Tonight It's You almost cracked the Top 40, topping out at #44. I love this album. As a matter of fact, it's my favorite Cheap Trick record. I saw the video for Tonight It's You for the first time in a hotel in St. Simons, Georgia way back when. I was totally knocked out by the attitude and the hook. I count that song as well as Love Comes and the title track as all-time favorite Cheap Trick tracks. And while I don't consider it a "perfect" album, I rarely skip tracks when listening to it. What do you think of Standing On The Edge?

Don't think I know that one, came along when I was dropping out.

Then you should definitely check out the title-track, Mike. It's as strong as any of their best songs from the 70's.
