ROCKOLLECTIONS: SUMMER'S END 2016 PT.2

Summer’s End, a Goodbye!

I’ll play some of what have become Ultimate End Of Summer Songs in here, even though a number of them take place at the Beginning of Summer.

I recorded this half on a late rainy night, windows open, no air conditioner needed.

You’ll hear me say at one point it was 3:33 in the morning- a nice intimate feeling of solitude and Music that may have influenced what I chose to play.

This wraps it up, a…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: SUMMER'S END 2016 PT.1

“Every now and then we hear our song...”.

Well during the course of this Series I hope I played it for you.

I will try to keep Summer Alive for one more week, as it’s the Beginning Of The End For The 2016 Summer Series.

But What’s Gonna Happen When Summer’s Done?

And not only will the Season be missed, but what about those sad breakups of Summer Romances?

Included here Beach Boy soundalikes, a flip side of…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: SUMMER ACTIVITIES 2016 PT.6

Cruising in your car, listening to Rock & Roll counts.

But this time it’s Summer Activities In The City.

Local things to do, no car necessary- walking or public transportation will suffice.

I’ll have, and play, something by the Doors that you may not have known about.

Ending the Summer Activities with one of the strangest sets I've ever done!

Frankly I had more to play, but I have to stop sometime.

Next week,…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: SUMMER ACTIVITIES 2016 PT.5

After a few weeks off for more important matters, it’s a return to Summer Activities.

It’s still Summer!

Besides, Seasons are no respecters of Calendars.

I did Swimming last time, and I’ll look at some other things that can be done involving Water.

Plus Songs For The Great Outdoors and The Great Indoors!

Honestly, it was so hot recording this Episode, I removed my shirt.

Luckily no video, lol!

Purge that…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11 PT.4 END

This is it, the Finale to the 15th Anniversary of Sept. 11th 2001.

There is a new World Trade Center at Ground Zero!

And I'll have that other song, from 1989, that is so eerily relatable to the events of that day.

But I am not optimistic now- there is all talk and not much action regarding islamic extremists like the barbaric isis.

Maybe a flicker of Hope that we wake up in time.

We'll find out.

Thanks for…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11 PT.3

The 15th Anniversary of 9/11 continues with some Poetry.

When my mind cleared 15 years ago, and it was time to return to the Radio Station, I brought 13 Songs that I would pick from to play.

Two of them were Bruce Springsteen songs- the first was on the Born In The U.S.A. album but too fast, too upbeat- but I remembered an acoustic version he did live that would say it for me.

Over the years, for the second one I found a…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11 PT.2

This Episode will contain Songs all written and recorded before the events of Sept 11 2001.

But applicable to what we needed on the days, weeks and months that followed.

Songs written with no clue they could be helpful in an unimaginable situation.

That innocence is gone now!

I confess I get worked up, pissed off, doing these 9/11 shows.

I tried to rid myself of that for the 10th…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 15TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11 PT.1

Blocks of Five or Ten Years always seem to go by fast...real fast.

I can remember every feeling, every shocking reaction, even every smell here in NYC regarding the muslim extremist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and Flight 93.

And still, Time has not diminished my anger at all, I doubt it ever will.

You know what happened 15 years ago- almost 3,000 people got up, went to work and never came home…
