ROCKOLLECTIONS: HAPPY “NEW” YEAR PT.2 END

This time, I will take a look at the making of New Year’s Resolutions.

Those New Beginnings.

I can understand the idea of a New Year being a time of reflection on the past, and an attempt to go in a different direction for the future.

But in point of fact, New Year’s Day is just another day- and any day can be a day for making a lifestyle change that will make you a better, healthier person.

I will use more “NEW”…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: HAPPY “NEW” YEAR PT.1

This is a rerun that goes way back, I think it was only the second show I ever did from home and not at the Radio Station with Engineer Ken Stanley.

I was still working things out- mic placement, surrounding noise, cueing, etc.

Plus being my own Engineer!

In my never-ending attempt to come at our Music from…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: CHRISTMAS PARTY 2015 PT.4 END

Had the Christmas Tree lit for this show, that always inspires me and gives it a nice feeling.

This is the wrap-up for the Annual Christmas Party this year.

Sorry I left out something for Hanukkah, it is usually in tandem with Christmas but not this year- it slipped by me.

Thought I'd stick with Santa Claus for the majority of this closing Chapter.

Until the end, where I have chosen a couple where The Message Is In…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: CHRISTMAS PARTY 2015 PT.3

It's Week 2 of the all-inclusive, everybody's invited Rockollections Christmas Party.

What you believe doesn't matter, I don't care, it's a Party!

I noticed that the show will be broadcast terrestrially on the First Day Of Winter, and couldn't let that go by without playing a few Winter beauties!

Then the matter of Children Believing In Santa Claus.

And finally, the little known subject of How Good Santa Boogies, and…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 60'S CHRISTMAS PARTY PT.2

Our 60's Christmas Party continues with Music exclusively from that Decade.

Pop, Rock, Psychedelia and Folk will all be included.

But the centerpiece as always is the Beatles Christmas Message 1965- their 3rd one, smack dab in the middle of the 60's.

What to wear to a Rockollections Christmas Party?

How about a…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: 60'S CHRISTMAS PARTY PT.1

Is there a better time of year in the World than Christmas?

Of course not!

It's Wonderful.

So it is time for the Annual Rockollections Christmas Party.

The Theme Within A Theme this year is the 1960’s- ALL songs played this week will be from the 60’s, unless I foul up, lol!

Included is a group that called themselves Christmas Spirit- made up of Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan of the…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL.5- ODDS AND ENDS PT.2

Finishing up with our Odds & Ends, something the late Scott McKenzie, of San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Flowers in Your Hair) fame, did with his Music that to my knowledge was unique, and went undetected by listeners.

He re-wrote the same song 3 times in the course of his life!

And that's 3 times I know of, he may have done more.

I've been wanting to play these even before he…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL.5- ODDS AND ENDS PT.1

Some Odds & Ends I hope you are ready for, as I am unfettered even by a Theme.

And I Am Ready!

As I was playing the first Set, the title of the album of one of the songs reminded me of Alan Freed.

Further, something triggered a memory of him being born in December.

Turned out I was right- Dec. 15th, 1921.

He's the legendary DJ from the early 1950's, and the man who supposedly…

ROCKOLLECTIONS: BEATLE JOHN- IN HIS OWN WORDS

December 8th, 1980 was the night John Lennon died.

There are famous appearances on WNEW-FM by John with Scott Muni and Dennis Elsas that have been talked about and written about.

But no one ever seems to mention an insightful interview of John done by Rosko at the station over the telephone before those, in 1969!

That will be the centerpiece for this closing Episode.

Rest in peace,…
