Classic Rock Bottom

After all the years I have been doing this show, Rockollections finally falls on November 1st, All Saints Day!
I took one of my rare looks ahead at the calendar and saw it coming.
So no Halloween show this year, but instead a sort of Anti-Halloween show.
And you should know that without All Saints Day, there is no Halloween!
I will cover that, but mostly I'll take a Rock & Roll look at the Saints.
Including the peculiar matter of St. Christopher, that patron of safe travel, being taken off the Saintly Roster.
We'll have some fun with this, so I invite you to join me for these heavenly episodes, lol!

Here's the link to start our trip to those Pearly Gates, at WLSO.FM:

Jon,
Hey that's an authentic piece of the 60's!
In 1968 The Electric Prunes did the album Mass In F Minor, in Latin, and did it inoffensively, just with psychedelic music instead of church music.
And psychedelics lent greatly to it's enjoyment, lol!
I'd send you home too...now look in the mirror...you are weird, lol!
Hang On Saint Christopher by the Bulletboys?
Mmmm...I know a song with the same title by Tom Waits.
Take a look, maybe they did Tom's song.
Thanks for listening and writing, Kryrie Eleison upon you, lol,
Mike

RJ,
Yeah, a couple of heavyweights to open!
I love that Van song, been waiting to use it.
You don't have to be Catholic for these shows- I am pretty sure Van is a Protestant from Northern Ireland and Paul Simon is Jewish.
Who knows about the other singers, who even cares, lol?
It's Kyrie Eleison by the Electric Prunes (think about THAT bowel movement!).
Very psychedelic, and that's why that period was the best ever for music- there were no restrictions, it was all so experimental.
Sorry, I don't know, never heard it- Mr. Mister was around I guess when I wasn't listening to music for various reasons, so I am still playing catchup for that period.
I'll take that Golden Pell for Cliff Eberhardt's (surprise!) Good For Nothing Saint (Mr. Christopher).
Thanks for the listen and writing, there is some very interesting music to come,
Mike

I thought of Antisaint, by Chevelle, but it's an anti-Halloween, not an anti-Saint's show.

I did enjoy the Kyrie song so much, I blessed people at work. Then they sent me home for being weird. Can't catch a break.

I was trying to thing of a song with "saint" in the title and the only one that came to mind was, I believe, "Hang On Saint Christopher" by the Bulletboys. Guess I listen to evil music?

Mike,

So you started the show off with a couple of great voices, huh?  Van Morrison and Paul Simon ar definitely two of the best.

That Kyrie song, I have no earthly idea how to spell it.  And before we go any further, I'm not Catholic, so anything about that faith baffles me.  But, that song was kinda cool, especially the guitar.  Mr. Mister had a big hit named Kyrie back in the 80's, and I believe it may be the same saying that you mentioned.  Do you know?

The famous "Golden Pell" goes to Cliff Everheart (probably didn't spell that right either) for the song "Good For Nothing Saint".  Nice humor for the day.
