ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL.5- ODDS AND ENDS PT.1

I hope you are ready for Some Odds & Ends, I Am Ready!
As I was playing the first Set, the title of the album of one of the songs reminded me of Alan Freed.
Further, something triggered a memory of him being born in December.
Turned out I was right- Dec. 15th 1921.
He's the legendary DJ from the early 1950's, and the man who supposedly gave Rock & Roll its name!
Freed made many contributions to Our Music, as he played Blues and Rhythm & Blues Artists on his show.
He also held racially integrated concerts when that was something very much out of the ordinary.
He was hugely successful first in Cleveland, then New York City, before the Payola Scandal claimed him as a casualty.
There are many Rock songs about him or connected to him, and I'll be playing some in tribute.
