Classic Rock Bottom

I thought I would try something different here, for this last official week of the season- an End Of Summer Cruise, using music as our proxy means of travel.
Whether the Cruise is on a lake, a river or the ocean- I got you covered.
Although if it is on an ocean, we might be lucky enough for some whale-watching!
Further, if you are tight for money and can’t afford a cruise, or if you don’t have a boat of your own, well, we can BUILD our own!
Which is just what we will do, again using songs as our tools.
Plus I will put a mythologically named group on the water, although their name is not my idea of a good time.
That river runs through hell!
This episode ends with a song that, if you listen to those illegal smile lyrics, I must remind you is ONLY a fantasy, lol!
There will be more to come, we will keep on cruisin’!
Oh yeah!

Dear RJ,
Well going in, you nailed the Styx song- nice pick!
That's great, the songs made you want to go for a boatride.
I did my job, lol!
Those songs you knew do have wonderful harmonies.
And of the other songs, I just like their melodies and lyrics, especially Lyle Lovett.
I am proud to have introduced you to them.
Wait till you hear Part Two, I think it is better...including some surprises.

Hey, and I actually got one right!!!

Yes, you did- which means our brains are getting in synch (a frightening thought, lol).
That happens with certain listeners, and as we go along you may find yourself correctly anticipating the next song.
I really enjoy when that happens!
Thanks for the listen and the words, and see how you do with the concluding half,
Mike

I have a couple of comments for you Mike. First, this is an wonderful playlist. It's so easy listening and it just makes me want to go for a boat ride.

I'm only familiar with 2 of the tunes, the Crosby/Nash song and the Styx song. Both of these bands provide outstanding harmonies in their music and I love anyting by both bands so thanks for playing them.

Of the other songs, the Jimmy Buffet/Alan Jackson song, the Lyle Lovett song, and the David Wilcox song really stand out. Great choices and I'm very happy to have heard them here first.

Great show!

Hey, and I actually got one right!!!

I'm about to listen to this. My only guess for that one clue is Boat On The River by Styx, which is a great song. We shall see...
