IN SPRING, IT'S MATTERS OF THE HEART PT.1

Keeping it honest, this is an old show that for some reason I never put out for listening.
I remember that they wanted me to talk more back in those days, which didn't bother me as long as I could pick any songs I wanted to play without interference.
As it still is!
What I am titling this show is just a variation of the quote, "In the Spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love".
Didn't seem fair to leave out the fancy of young women, lol!
It is from the poem Locksley Hall by Alfred Lord Tennyson, and I will read, not the whole thing thankfully, but that portion I am referencing.
Never one to waste what I consider a good idea, these are songs I didn't play on the previous Valentine's Day- the first time I played all "Heart" songs!
These are not the scrubs, not the ones that weren't good enough.
I just couldn't fit them all in for Valentines.
I have some nice quotes in here about the Loving Heart, and of course Music I hope you will enjoy.

You are correct sir, lol!

Could picture her, but no name.

In the movie? Nah, it was the smokin' hot Kathleen Turner.

Alright, got one right.

Pushing it further, I am thinking Lily Tomlin...but could be wrong.

Maybe a better looking babe.

Ah, the Steve Martin movie right?

Haven't seen that in years, but I remember laughing my ass off!

Jon,
Yeah, wasn't my endless charm and sneaky wit annoying, lol?

"Pointy birds go pointy pointy,

Anoint my head, anointy nointy"

Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr, 1983

That's about Spring, cause it has BIRDS!

Easy to see that, but who is Dr. Michael Hfuhruhurr, and why does his name sound familiar?
Glad you enjoyed The Beach Boys/Four Freshman songs, but I have seemingly depressed you again.
I must remember to treat you gingerly, lol!
The Rondstadt song begins very much like the McGarrigle's original.
Funny, you can't get into Elvis and RJ thinks the world of him.
Maybe as I said, like scotch, you have to grow into him.
Alas, the boat has sailed...but to Kansas...it's a small boat because there is no ocean there, lol!
I'll get to that damn song for you someday!

RJ,
That's not the poem about beans I remember, lol!
I like Linda Ronstadt, she's had good taste in picking songs.
As we get older, Elvis gets better!
Wow, the best, most soothing voice ever, even in the history of the whole wide world- you REALLY like him, lol!
My Mom loved him, she always said he could really sing- and she loved the early Beatles...up until they started growing beards.
Is this the first time the Golden Pell has been a tie?
As I said in the show, the two versions were so similar sounding that you didn't realize it had changed from one artist to the next.
Guess that proves it, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, can always count on you,
Mike

Scott,
First of all, let me call you cultured, lol!
And I am honored, never mind Philadelphia, that this is the first I am aware of being listened to on one of those expensive iPads.
I have made it big time, lol!
As for that first song, all I can say is "YES!"
The Golden Pell to Meisner...don't mind that call at all!
I agree that was a mistake with the Eagles reunion and Meisner, but he did play with them at the Hall Of Fame.
And didn't he throw a drunken punch at Frey or Henley one night?
Sometimes that takes a while to forgive, especially if you connect, lol!
And I like Timothy Schmidt too.
A hint, more of those birds to come.
Thanks for the listen, writing and to all of Philadelphia,
Mike
