ROCKOLLECTIONS: 1967 AND THE SUMMER OF LOVE PT.8

More of my Remembrances of the 45th Anniversary of 1967 & The Summer Of Love.
This time a visit to the West Coast and a return to the East Coast, in pursuit of experimental and progressive Rock.
All with the assistance of a couple of, at varying times, very very popular bands!
Simple as that.
No need to write much on a hot, humid August night in New York City.
In fact the humidity is 10 points higher than the temperature...everything I hate about Summer, lol!
Strip down and enjoy the Music!

Step right up...and take your choice of links, to Mike Pell Rockollections:

Remember that psychedelic effect at Podomatic if you listen in Full-Screen,

And here at Soundcloud they have a visual too,

RJ,
Plus I'll have one more late tomorrow night, lol!
Sonny & Cher had quite a few hits in the 60's, and that one seemed like a nice way to open the 2nd half of the show.
I have only vague memories of watching that variety show, I was too busy listening to music.
I feel the same way as you- notice I said Good Vibrations was the BEST song they ever recorded, but although I too love it, I didn't say it was my favorite!
For a LOT of people I know, Don't Worry Baby is the fave...the harmonies are unbelievable.
I think it was mine for a period too, lol!
Hard to believe with a song that beautiful, it's really not a love song...it's a car race!
I can't figure out what my favorite song by them is, maybe Friends- it seems to change every little while, lol!
Man, you never heard Heroes And Villians?
Well then it certainly deserves the Golden Pell, it's a great song!
As is It's Love by The Young Rascals.
You couldn't go wrong with either of them, actually any of them in that show.
It is a good feeling for me to bring these songs to your attention.
Hard to believe those were B-sides from the Rascals- and I know them like the back of my hand.
I'll tell the Beach Boys about the Pell next time we're hanging out, lol!
Thanks for listening and writing, hope things are better,
Mike

Two down, one to go on project catch-up.  I'm not real familiar with Sonny and Cher, other that the fact that I do remember watching their variety show, but this was a cool intro tune.  RIP Sonny Bono.

I can't tell you how great it was to hear Good Vibrations.  I love that song, especially the verse.  I only know their hits, this being one of those.  As much as I love it, it's not my favorite.  That would be Don't Worry Baby.  That's my ultimate Beach Boys song.

And speaking of the Beach Boys, I'm giving them a Golden Pell (be sure to let 'em know, so they can make room on their trophy shelf for the honor) for the totally unkown (to me) song Heroes And Villians.  I liked it.

It's Love by The Young Rascals was close to snatching it from them, but not quite.

Jon,
I DID that half show nekkid, lol!
Some very different Beach Boys music, and that stuff by the Rascals I love.
Part 7 was the bees knees...think my grandmother used to say that, lol!
And put your clothes on and go outside!
Man, that was funny- what you wrote and how you wrote it.

Yep, it was good. Still think Part 7 was the bees knees, but we can't totally rawk all the time, can we? Especially when we're nekkid?

Jon my man,
You have outdone yourself!
That is the FUNNIEST thing you have ever written.
The businesslike manner you present it in is freakin' BRILLIANT!
Proud of you!
Thank you for your time...hahahahahahahaha!!!!!
By the way, hope you enjoyed the show half as much as I enjoyed that message,
Mike

Umm...Mike?

I did as you asked and stripped down to listen to this at work and umm...well, management really didn't appreciate me sitting in my office sans clothes while listening to Sonny & Cher, The Beach Boys and The Rascals.

The alarms went off and everyone was forced to evacuate while the big cheesies tried to figure out what to do with me. I offered to put back on my clothes, but they told me to wait as they discussed it further.

Then someone starting taking pictures of my nekkidness and I heard something about it going "viral", whatever the hell that means.

In the future, could you be a bit more specific with what you write? I'm thinking that the phrase "strip down{" was a joke, but impressionable turds like me might take it at face value and do exactly what you say.

Thank you for your time.
