Classic Rock Bottom

This is a Series that should have started last week.
But every time I sat down to do it, I couldn't get it going.
Maybe emotions were involved.
And I will share some of them with you, if only in these first two episodes.
Last week's Valentine's Day was the 6th anniversary of my ex-girlfriend Angel's death.
What a day to have your life end!
Wait a minute, is there a GOOD day?
I will commemorate Angel with a musical exploration of Rock & Roll Angel songs (with a few diversions into other areas, probably a short trip to the movies).
The Music guarantees this will not be morose, or an exercise in self-pity.
Above all, this will not be a wake, unless you count it as an Irish one, and she was most definitely Irish with the name Murphy.
And one helluva beautiful, fun, sexy, smart and tough lady.
Don't know what she saw in me for so long!
We will be all over the place for this and the next chapters- as I am no respecter of decades or genres- and I don't know how long this Series will go.
I think it may be kind of long though...as I hardly think I will ever deal with this topic again!
That said, I invite you to join me in the celebration of a life- along with the Archangels, Cherubim and Seraphim.
The first order of business will be Calling All Angels and Making Contact!

No collection is complete without that Arc Angels album. Just sayin'.

Jon,

I LIKE that Arc Angels song!

Nice pick, I might use it, but I have quite a number to choose from.

I thank you for the tip,

Mike

RJ,

I mentioned you in Part Two of the show...and you guessed it...I said JR!

I don't know where the hell my head was at, lol!
Sorry man, I am trying to make you famous!

Holy crap, I did write JR, lol!
That's another guy I know.

I was tired, did 11 pages of narration from home.

And now I am going to the TV station to see what they do with it.

So I guess my mind was half on other things.

Oh man I am sorry, I am a Jr. too but I have NEVER used it!

Glad you liked Van, shocked you never heard the Jimi, LOL!

And Jon, like you, I'll try to listen to that video at work.

Meanwhile, what song by a group name like Arc Angels will I play,,,heheheheheheh?

Mike, do you have dyslexia?  Oh well, I think I like JR better, and I'm actually a junior, so maybe I should change my name to RJHJR.

I did like that Van Morrison song a good bit too, and it almost got the GP.  It was definitely runner-up.

Well, here you go. Don't even bother watching the video. Just sit back and take a listen.

Jon,
The  Aerosmith song...read what I wrote to the other guys.
I had a stack of songs titled "Angel", and that one just happened to catch my eye...I haven't heard it that many times, so I thought let's do it!
It was a late, last second thought that made you physically ill, lol!
Oh man, that's funny.
But you are with me on the Van Morrison, so I take it you've heard the Hendrix song?
And you don't need me for Van, you can listen to it WHENEVER!
Seems that because I am older, I thought of an older song by a band with Angel in it than the Arc Angels.
Never heard them, never heard OF them, lol!
And maybe I was hung up on Angel...just that...no "S"!
We are thinking alike though, and it will open Part Two.
Thanks for the listen and writing, have an alka seltzer on me, lol,
Mike

JR,
Good thinking on your part, although of the 3, Aerosmith was just almost an afterthought to me.
Then I thought it might be too long and not fit, lol!
The Dave Matthews Band song gets better the more I hear it.
And I think you mean the group Saybia that does the first song in the set.
I followed it with Jimi because I figured it would be the most well-known song of the bunch.
Apparently Aerosmith is, lol!
Surprising you never heard the Hendrix, and he snatches the Golden Pell from my pick of Van Morrison!
As I told Scott, guess that is the proper way to go.
Seems with Jimi, I keep picking 'em out, and you keep liking them, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing bro, no Hendrix in the next chapter,
Mike

Scott,
It doesn't always feel like everyday is a good day, but giving it some thought, you make a good point, lol!
In Part Two I will tell a story that I think is funny about what was our first date, but I wonder if it will be censored Tuesday terrestrially- it's a true one though.
I think you guys are more familiar with Aerosmith, because that one was a late thought for me.
But Van's is a great one, definitely has that certain something alright, and I knew I would play him right at the beginning.
I also wanted to begin with a rocker, didn't bother me if it was from the 50's, and I was surprised how nicely they went together.
The mellowness and lyrics worked for me.
And I thought Van was a definite Golden Pell winner, no contest!
But I see JR never heard Hendrix's Angel, and that changes everything.
It'd be tough, but Jimi would probably edge out the Golden Pell...real close.
Thanks for the listen and writing, hope you like the next part, got some fun in it,
Mike
