ROCKOLLECTIONS: APRIL SHOWERS- LET IT RAIN PT.5

Somebody help me!
For the past two weeks I have been caught in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, watching 2, 3, 4, sometimes 5 games in a day- tough, nasty, mesmerizing old-time Hockey the way I like it, lol!
Where's that been the last bunch of years?
So I am behind on everything, those damn intrusions of life!
I have a correction to make.
Last time out, I must have thought I was going to tell a story- I incorrectly identified the Rascals album as Once Upon A Time...it is in fact Once Upon A Dream.
This time in, I asked a few friends Why People Walk In The Rain?
I'll have their answers, but I didn't say in the show that most of them said they didn't like it at all, lol!
You have to go somewhere, it's raining, so you walk in it- end of story.
Another portion of this chapter will deal with People Who Want It To Rain.
For reasons that will become quickly clear to you.
A nice cross-section of Music in here.
And a rushed out blog, lol!
Enjoy!

And here's the ever-loving link enabling you to hear this hand-picked collection, at WLSO.FM:

That is very true Jon.

Particularly with 4 or 5 syllable words, they get very strange as you stare at them.

The more you use certain words, the more odd they seem. That's why I overused depressed, just to see if it turned odd. And it did!

Jon,
How did this slip past me?
You know, the notices for comments are taking much longer to receive now- don't know what happened.
Well, I already addressed the effectiveness of songs that might be considered depressing.
You used the word 5 times in the 2nd paragraph, lol!
I would not have wanted to miss the hysterical insanity of this:

Looking at that word, it's a bit odd. de-pressed. Kind of like laundry gone bad. "I have a de-pressed shirt. What am I going to do?"

Something like that.

You are a character, we deserve to be friends, LOL,
Mike

RJ,
Alright, you didn't really enjoy this chapter, lol!
That's okay, someone else probably did, so that doesn't bother me at all.
I'll never please all the people all the time!
But isn't it refreshing from today's predictable radio that you NEVER know what I am going to play next?
And rather than random, it will somehow be connected to the song before it?
About the Phil Collins song, I think it's alright- I like it but it's no world beater!
And I make a quick comeback with the Everly Brothers.
The Golden Pell to the Temptations is a fine choice, and you have the title right.
But again I am surprised you never heard it- that and the Ronettes (spelling) may have been the two most known songs I played in there.
Guess you were just a bit too young for those Motown songs.
And Ball Of Confusion is a great one by the Tempts.
If I can find it easily, I'll send it...maybe both.
Now let me get this straight, it's beautiful outside and you get depressed by a song, lol?
Here in NYC it was rain and rain and cold...hit the 30's tonight!
Thanks for the listen and writing, and enjoy the weather.
I am!

i split it up Mike (sorry!).

This was kind of depressing. Rain isn't supposed to be depressing but every song depressed me. Not that they were bad they were just...depressing. Maybe I was depressed today.

Looking at that word, it's a bit odd. de-pressed. Kind of like laundry gone bad. "I have a de-pressed shirt. What am I going to do?"

Something like that.

Hey Mike,

That first song you played sounded really old.  That's not a criticism of it, just that it sounds old.  Still a pretty cool song.

The Ronnettes (spelling), Love Unlimited, Badfinger...all okay songs for me.

For some reason, I've always disliked that Phil Collins song.  Don't know why.  And I actually listened to this yesterday, just didn't have time to comment, but it was beautiful outside then, and it may have depressed me even more than usual.  Shame on you.  But you followed it up nicely with The Everly Brothers, so all is forgiven.

And I'm sending a Golden Pell The Temptations' way.  I think you said the song was called "I Wish It Would Rain".  I had the greatest hits disc of The Temptations in my wish list on Amazon the other day because I heard another really cool song by them.  I think it was called Ball Of Confusion.  I actually heard a cover of the song by Tesla, and I wanted to hear The Temptations version.  I think I'll have to put that disc back on my wish list.
