You really think I'm going to click that link?
Here.
Putting makeup on one's face does not a painter make.
Forgot to mention Paul Stanley is a painter.
Good half show Mike. I liked this part, maybe better than part one. It had a real laid back feel to it, except for one song. The track by the Gunslingers. I'm not now nor have I ever been a fan of that song. It's just one that grates on the nerves for some reason. But other than that, this was outstanding.
Conway Twitty had the early lead for the Golden Pell, but then you played Tony Bennett, which made my decision a bit harder. On top of that, you added The Band's version of that Bob Dylan song. It has come to my attention that I need to pad my library with some of the Band's work. I have none. But every time I hear one of their songs, I like it.
Then you just muddled every thing up when you played Gordo. I need more Lightfoot as well.
While these were all great songs, I'm gonna have to award the coveted Golden Pell to The Band for their cover of When I Paint My Masterpiece. Thanks for playing these great songs.
By the way, the only song I can think of off of the top of my head that may fit would be Paint It Black.
If you ask me about art, what picture comes to mind?
Yep, that's the one that sums up everything quite perfectly.
The beginning of the Joni Mitchell song kinda waked you up. It's a bit shrill compared to your lovely, lilting voice.
What is a "painting artist"? Painter, maybe? I kid. Do I?
No. NO. I have NEVER said "Ohh la la" when looking at a painting. I think I might have said that at a topless bar, once and only once. I mean, what else could you say?
I think there's a lot of musicians that dabble in art on the side. There are a few that also paint or draw (or whatever arty word that can be used) their own album covers. That would be an interesting show.
Hey, sometimes when Gordon Lightfoot sings, it sounds like someone is shaking him. Maybe he was just trying to get comfortable on the stool.
Nice mixture here, some old, some really old and some slightly old. Sometimes I like The Band, sometimes not.
This reminds me of what Ms Haversham would say to me every night before I went to sleep:
"Drink this. You'll paint. You won't make money, but it'll give you something to do while sleepwalking".
Wonder where she is now?
There are no birthdays today
