ROCKOLLECTIONS: ART AND ARTISTS PT.3

Hope I don't scare you with that picture.
I can't explain it, but it always makes me laugh that people are afraid of Clowns, lol!
I will Paint You A Picture if that's what it takes to keep your interest in Art and Artists.
Among the things taken up in Song this episode are how Artists seem to do very well with the ladies!
And...ahem...keeping it modest...I will open my own Painting Box, lol!
The Music chosen will span 1955-2007, so a wide range of our Music.
Here's wishing  you are pleased with the picks!

Who the heck is Jessie?

That first song by Jerry Lewis and the Playboy staff was great.  I liked it and the show got off with a bang.  But the next couple of songs depressed me.  Don't know why.  At that point, I wasn't feeling it.

Then came that song Painting Box that is your favorite.  I liked it a lot too.  It picked me back up.  I'm no longer depressed (the fact that I'm off at 12:30 pm and for the next 5 workdays after that helps that situation too).  I was even thinking about giving it the Golden Pell.

But the Wilco song took over and became the clear cut front runner for the coveted award.  But I thought they were saying white light, but I guess it was what light.

And just when you think you have the GP all sewed up, along comes a staple.  Loudon Wainright III.  Jessie Don't Like It.  I still don't know who Jessie is, but he/she helped Wainright pick up a Golden Pell.  That song was absolutely fantastic.  If it was entitled Jimmy Don't Like It it could have been used on a Seinfeld episode.  Do you remember that episode?

And finally, even though it's too late to hear it, I thought of a painting song...Paint Me A Birmingham by Tracy Lawrence.  Have you ever heard that one?

Jon,
You know I just listened to that album all the way through a few weeks ago.
I remember now, I didn't like the lyrics or subject matter- only Ray would dare write a song like that, lol!
Just a couple of years ago, weren't the Mets second only to the Yanks in payroll?
I know they were up there.
So it's not money, it's scouting, development, and not being lazy with free agents and pickups.
I had the same feeling they were gonna lose!
Glad you stopped writing, now I will watch the Islanders (underachievers also!) play hockey.

It's from their "Give The People...." album. Really not a PC song, but F 'em.

Yeah, I watched the game from beginning to end. Even though they had the lead, I just knew they were going to lose. This is what you get from a team with no bullpen (and now Parnell is gone), no first baseman and no shortstop. Yet, 90 wins is what the GM wants.

I have given Sandy the benfit of the doubt the last few years. 2014 was supposed to be THE year. Yet somehow it's now 2015 because Harvey went down. 1 friggin' pitcher and the front office just gives up. It's ludicrous. Someone also had the balls to mention that they would spend more money if there were more fans in the seats. Hello? You won't get fans in the seats when you consistently field something close to a AAA team.   It's New York! It's a big market team! Minnesota has a higher payroll!

Who knows, though. Maybe they'll stun me and make the playoffs. But watching them yesterday gives me zero hope. Outside of a few players, it's just the same old thing. Lackluster play, some don't even look like they want to be there.

Oh, I have no clue where that stuff came from. I just started typing and figured out it was time to end and that was it.

Jon,
Yeah, they'd get airplay- but they'd have to have girls in there and be the Playpeople!
Kinda loses something eh, lol?
But that's what those PC dicks do, take all the fun out of things.
And if anybody reading this is PC, tough- bring it on MF's!
That's strange, I don't remember "Art Lover" by the Kinks.
I should have it, I might have ALL their albums, but no bell ringing.
You know, I read this about 10 times, and I still don't know what it means:

There was some good stuff here from bands/artists I own nothing of by they did singing and stuff. But it was a flippy flop intrusive head wound gaping maw of a show splintering the mote in mine eyes, sparkling and freezing oh lo and behold the massive quarantine of justice that is my reading room of books and papers and floor tiles emanating an odor no pleasant yet not unpleasant, just an odor that is there and lingering like moss on the western part of a flowering flower of great beauty and wisdom bowing down to the great king rat.

But I really LIKE it, lol!
Lampoon and Mad calls Jon!
Oh and the Mets suck, we watched at work- blow leads, then 2 out in 9th, a walk, and I say the next batter will single up the middle to tie it, I was close, a single to left center...they & bullpen SUCK!
Thanks for the listen and somewhat understandable writing,
Mike

Do you think, is this PC world, that a group with the name "The Playboys" would get any airplay? I don't think so, unless they twerked and waggled their tongues. The 60's were better!

I remember an art song. By The Kinks! And it came to me when you played the Ray Davies song! "Art Lover"! Why can't you play that? Maybe the lyrics are a bit TOO perverted? It is about art! PLAY IT!
