Classic Rock Bottom

December 8th, 1980 was the night John Lennon died.
There are famous appearances on WNEW-FM by John with Scott Muni and Dennis Elsas that have been talked about and written about.
But no one ever seems to mention an insightful interview of John done by Rosko at the station over the telephone before those, in 1969!
That will be the centerpiece for this closing Episode.
Rest in peace, George and John!

If I played it, people can't hear the spelling, lol!

Yep, gotta year to go. But it's "Jon" so it wouldn't make much sense.

Yeah  it is artsy-fartsy.

Pretty much the only time I used that disc was to play It's Johnny's Birthday for a friend named John,.

Hey...wait a minute...there's you, lol!

Tell me when your birthday's coming, although I think it just passed!

I have ATMP, but it gets a bit boring with the last disc, just meandering around. Artsy-fartsy stuff, I guess you could say.

Hey, you are always up early!

Ringo has some surprisingly good albums, Time Takes Time being one of them.

And Paul can always be counted on for something catchy.

George's shining moment was the first triple album, All Things Must Pass.

Yep, I like Paul's solo stuff a lot.

Ringo has some decent songs, but I've never bothered to buy a Ringo album outside of a greatest hits disc. I have a bunch of PM albums though, should hopefully finish up my Wings collection when they release the special editions, maybe next year.

I did buy Harrison's 33 1/3 many years ago, found it in a cutout bin. Didn't like it much, except for maybe one song.

It is such a good song too, I always say that Paul's background singing makes it so much better.
Might be understandable being banned, but WNEW-FM and other FM's played it so I wasn't affected, plus I got the single.
You're right, Mrs. Lennon makes me think of Cynthia, his first wife.
You mentioned you were not a George solo fan, now not John either?
Are you a fan of any ex-Beatles solo, lol?
They had telephones in 1969, and people used them exclusively to make calls.
You could do that and not walk into poles or people, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,

Guess it makes sense why some stations would ban that song since it was way back then, but it just doesn't make sense overall.

That's the first I ever heard of Yoko being called Mrs. Lennon. It just doesn't sound right, does it?

The songs that were featured were fine, still not a JL solo fan. Think I mentioned that before, like two days ago, but I just want it to be known that I am standing my ground!

They had telephones in 1969??????
