Classic Rock Bottom

I'll be taking a lighter approach than the Hurricane with this look at Blackouts that have hit New York City and the Northeast over the years.
Not counting the smaller scale that still exists in some areas here, we have had Blackouts in 1965, 1977 and 2003.
I was a kid for the first one, November 9th, 1965, and it was fun.
For July 13th-14th 1977 I was with a girl, and it was romantic.
The one on August 14th 2003 just flat-out sucked, lol!
A sweltering Summer night with high humidity, and no way to get cool.
I'll begin with the first one in 1965, which happened at 5:27 in the afternoon.
So if you can, that is the recommended time to listen.
For the real experience, please have all electrical appliances shut off and pulled out of the wall...except for what you need to listen to this Musical Exploration Of Power Failures of course!
Let's Do Our Music in the Dark!
I'll leave a candle in the window for you, lol!

Glad the flu is on the way out.

Had a rough week too, spent half of Wednesday here at home on the computer recording voiceovers.

I couldn't wait to get away and do something else, lol!

But I can't really complain, it's fun work and I get paid- plus I actually have better recording equipment here than at the TV station.

You got it bro, the Kingston Trio did Get Together first but the Youngbloods have the famous one.

I am giving YOU a Golden Pell, LOL!

Flu is better.  But a very tough week at work, plus I was off Monday and Tuesday, so very little listening time this week.

I think you played the Youngbloods in Pt 4 of the Kingston Trio show.

RJ,
How's that flu?
At last, someone who enjoyed hearing Bruce twice, lol!
The point was they both fit where I wanted to go.
The Golden Pell to The Youngbloods for Darkness Darkness would have been my choice too!
In fact, I was hoping you'd pick that one.
I am sure I have played them before, but I can't remember what it was, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing from your sick bed,
Mike

Okay, I'm really running behind this week.  This will be short and sweet.

Basically, this show flowed greatly.  I enjoyed every single song.  Yes, unlike Jon and Scott, I am a fan of The Boss.  Darkness On The Edge Of Town is such a great tune.

I'll give a Golden Pell to The Youngbloods for Darkness Darkness.  Great song.  It seems like you've played them before and I liked them, but I can't remember for sure.

No, it's a Catholic thing.

You get one from the church when someone dies.

Hasn't happened to you I see, lol!

Mass Card? Is that like a bus pass?

Comment by Mike Pell on December 5, 2012 at 5:28pm

I thought you had died...I even bought a Mass Card, lol!

And notice how long I took to reply back?

Comment by Mike Pell on December 5, 2012 at 3:18am

Turns out of all of them, I like Dean best.

Bet you didn't think you'd get a reply so fast, lol!

Plus hanging around with Dean, Sammy, Joey & Peter helped.
