Classic Rock Bottom

As I have stated, here in the Northeast we have had major Blackouts in 1965, 1977 and 2003.
In each case, and for the future, there are certain essentials you should have.
But there was one always dependable, vital, irreplaceable item you HAVE to have.
And that will be the subject of this Part Two of our musical look at Blackouts.
Enough said!
On to the Music!

I've always wanted to be able to have some song pop into my head and then be able to grab the CD off the shelf. I THINK I might have it all taken care of, but there's always that one song that I don't have and then the madness starts all over again. But, I do have a room in the basement that has all CD's, vinyl, tapes, DVD's and Blu-Rays arranged quite nicely so I don't have to move crap around in order to poo.

But I am running out of shelf space......

I'm telling you, it's a great flick, but we are not quite as bad.

One question that none of the people in the movie can answer however, and I have never been able to either, is how MANY records do you have?

A vague estimate is all I can give...I truly have no idea...just that there's room for more, lol!

But I am not saying you are completely like these people- one guy, doesn't have time for dates because of his records, another has to move stacks in the middle of the night just to get to the bathroom.

But I saw parts of myself in these people.

The relationship between mental problems and this group is strictly on an individual basis, lol!

Jon however seems to have METAL problems!

That explains a lot, and make a helluva reality show I would watch, lol!

I think I do have metal problems. I see one album and then I want more. We should have a reality show about our sickness.

That may be too personal!  hahahaha.  Pretty sure I don't have mental issues - however I do enjoy the group of folks on this site - hmmmmm...

Yes, there is something wrong with us, lol!

Any of you guys, if you ever get the chance, watch a great movie documentary called "Vinyl".

Made by Canadians I believe.

You will see yourself in that movie, and it is actually a very sad movie, with people who have vast collections and mental problems- they cannot let go of their albums & just keep getting more.

It is a fascinating flick on many levels!

Yet we still crave to buy more!

I know what you mean.

Honestly, I have so many CD's, some unopened for years, I doubt I'll ever listen to them straight through.

Comment by Jon on December 6, 2012 at 3:05am

That is correct. I have about 40 cd's sitting around, waiting to be listened to. GOne are the days when I get a CD and listen to it immediately. Now I wait for the right moment!

Jon,
You want to be grabbed?
I'll grab you...by the THROAT...s
ave that Mass Card, LOL!
Nilsson can be so subtly funny.
Did you notice that he sings a number of times "Baby I'm gone"?
Except for the LAST time, when he goes "Baby I'm..." and NOTHING, he's GONE, lol!
And let me get this straight.
You got that ELO album a few months ago, and you listened to that album a few weeks ago?

Whoa is me. Whoa. WHOA!

No kidding!
It's the substance abuse Jon me lad, lol!
Thanks for listening, writing, and taking some ribbing,
Mike

Well, except for the Harry & ELO songs, not much grabbed me today. Funny thing is, I just got that ELO album a few months ago in a box set, and the song sounded familiar and when you said what album it was from, I then remembered that I listened to that album a few weeks ago. Whoa is me. Whoa. WHOA!
