ROCKOLLECTIONS: BUILDING A HOUSE WITH SONG- ROOF

Well, we have made great progress in the last week with Building A House.
As I said at the top of the show, maybe it's because that NSA Invasion Of Our Privacy has made people cut down on their interfering Phone Calls to me.
I can get some damn work done, lol!
Since you build from the bottom up, we are putting the Finishing Touches on the Roof.
And I will be getting serious on you with some of the Song Selections.
Interestingly, when I started this Building A House Series, I thought it would be a very light-hearted Musical Look & Listen.
But the deeper I get into it, the more I discover how thoughtful and touching songs about Houses can be.
We'll talk about that later.
For now, please enjoy the Music!
Here are the links to listen, and if like me you don't like heights we'll get off the Roof quickly and go back inside, at Mike Pell Rockollections:

RJ,

Don't go to too much trouble.

But I am curious as to what made you think of something I was thinking about for years, lol!

Jon,

I don't know, I must be missing something, I don't see anything there that relates to what you were talking about.

As for the movie, yeah it ranks with the great ones, lol!

Man I would have been pissed if I had PAYED to see it!

I don't think it was your show, I heard it somewhere else, just can't remember where.  Oh, I know, I just recently bought that CD from a going out of business sale.  That's where I heard it.  But I also can't remember the other song that inspired my challenge.  If I get time I'll search back through the last couple of months...it's not too far back.

Oh, now you wanna know! Ok, here goes. You'll see what I mean around the 1 minute mark and beyond.

NOTE: Due to language and subject matter, some might find this offensive

So what makes you think of "Eurotrip"?
Christ, it's like pulling teeth!

We need an intervention for you Jon, lol!

absolutely not. Detroit 100% totally sucks. It's a killing field!

Jon,

Was it what I said about Detroit or something RJ said?

Never saw "Eurotrip", judging from the cast, I probably never will, lol!

RJ,
You AGREE with Jon?
Wow, that hardly ever happens, lol!
What song is ""the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire, we don't need no water "?
I am writing this and having trouble waking up, lol!
The Grateful Dead harmonies are great in that song, but I have never played it on the show before.
So it's not that one, but I forget now, what WERE the two songs that made you challenge me to this theme?
Give me a Theme and I will give you several hours of Shows!
The Golden Pell to The Supremes, nice of you since they haven't won anything in a while, lol!
It is a great little song, not such a big hit, and I doubt it gets played much anymore, so I was proud that I even remembered it.
The last Set was Rooms- Scott McKenzie, I Eat Dinner- Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Come On In My Kitchen- Eric Clapton (a Robert Johnson song from 1936, and I am sure you know who he is), and lastly Come On-A My House- Rosemary Clooney from 1951.
So you didn't miss much music, just the identification.
And I wonder why that happened?
Thanks for the listen and writing bro, you almost heard it all, lol,
Mike
