ROCKOLLECTIONS: CALL ME MISTER PT.4

Let's move forward with the Mister songs a bit, even dipping into the 70's.
I'll begin with the tune that in my opinion is THE song that started a whole type of Music- what became known in the mid-60's as Folk Rock.
Not only that, it began the American Folk Revival!
From there, Music from one of best albums ever made, but most have never heard it.
After that, a song written and sung by one of those Folk singers, in not his usual style, that is ominous.
And then taken by a group that same year and turned into something psychedelic and downright menacing!
Some real good Rock & Roll in here.
Give a listen.

Here are the links to listen for now, I'll take some vacation so we'll continue in two weeks, at Mike Pell Rockollections:

Oh, there's more at Podomatic.
And there is a Golden Pellwinner going to The Byrds for Mr. Spaceman.
I love that song.
Ace Frehley is the one and only true Spaceman, and I made you connect the Byrds to Kiss!
Run that by me again, lol!

RJ,
There were a couple you recognized in Part 1 too, so I am holding steady.
I tell you, that guitar solo in the Traffic song is fantastic- the whole band sounds great.
I gotta play the old Gimme Some Lovin' that they did on that Live album, since Winwood sang it with the Spencer Davis Group.
It is amazing!
Sorry none of the others struck your fancy.
I thought sure Clear Light would get the Golden Pell.
Fun how Tom Paxton pops up as a staple from time to time eh, lol?
As always, thanks for listening and writing,
Mike

Jon,
There you are dressed in drag in your picture again, lol!
No loverly ladies, had them in Part 1.
I said the Moby Grape album IS ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME.
The BEST is Sgt. Pepper!
Seriously though, get the 1st Grape album.
That was Clear Light, two words- and that song is as evil as music gets.
I KNEW IT- you were in a cult back in the 60's!
AND you were doing drugs, hell you still do them!
That is the only explanation for some of what you do, lol!
Your family was the cult?
This is so you...hehehehehehe:

I did like this show the bestest though, even with the absence of lovely ladies, but the evil song overrode the absence of lasses so I am content.

Good to know you were contented.
And as always, thanks for listening and writing,
Mike

There were a couple of songs I recognized in this show. Mr. Tambourine Man by the Byrds and Dear Mr. Fantasy by Traffic. Both are very good songs. And how 'bout that guitar solo in the Traffic song? That was awesome.

None of the others really struck my fancy, but they weren't bad either. I noticed you did manage to work in a staple (Tom Paxton).

I wish you had loverly ladies signing every now and then, but I guess I'll just take what I can gets.

Really? That Moby Grape album IS THE BEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME? Really? I don't have it and I have ALL the BEST ALBUMS OF ALL TIME.

Cool song fro The Doors. Wait. The Rolling Stones. No, Clearlight. That was evil. I've heard it somewhere before, think it was when I was in that cult back in the 60's. Don't remember much of that time since I was doing drugs. But it was a cult. Or my family. One or the other. Remember seeing the movie "Patton" at a drive-in, don't remember much of the movie since I was only 7 and on drugs.

I did like this show the bestest though, even with the absence of lovely ladies, but the evil song overrode the absence of lasses so I am content.
