ROCKOLLECTIONS: CHRISTMAS PARTY 2014 PT.2

The Annual Two-Week Christmas Party continues!
And I see now we can pop Hanukkah in there too.
This time I'll continue a tradition started a long time ago.
I'll play the Beatles Christmas Message of 1964- since it is 2014, keeping that close distance of 50 years!
These are the little plexidiscs they would send to their Fan Club Members- but 50 years...do you believe that, oh man, lol?
Also I'll do something I've been meaning to do for years, but always got distracted by other Music.
At long last, I will play the Emerson, Lake & Palmer Christmas EP all the way through!
This 2nd half went fast, I was shocked to find I couldn't play any more Music.
But see, that's why it takes at least two weeks for the Christmas Party.
Do give a listen!
To be continued next week!

RJ,
Glad to see you have the Christmas spirit!
Right away, the first song, and  the Golden Pell goes to Van Morrison!
What happened was I so seamlessly worked the song title into my conversational style that you missed it, lol!
I came on after the song and said, Oh The Warm Feeling...and that is the name of the song.
No, I never had the Beatle floppies, saw them though.
I got an album that was a bootleg that had all their Christmas Messages on it.
And now I have 3 or 4 CD's that have them all on it- don't know if they were officially released or not, and don't really care because they are so much fun to listen to.
Well I lucked out and played one of your favorite Christmas songs.
It was different for me this year, not much time to think of a Theme within a Theme, so I just let my mind pick songs, and that's when I thought let this be the year I play that Emerson, Lake & Palmer Christmas EP all the way through.
I will have a bit of a Theme within a Theme in Part 3 though!
Since I don't like to overplay songs, it took me a moment to figure out which was the ELP version, lol!
Nutrocker would be a great band name.
Wonder why nobody thought of it...except you?
Thanks for listening and writing, nice you weren't distracted and I was able to get your attention this time, lol,
Mike

Jon,
Oh my heart be still, you liked it!
For the most part, I hate metal renditions of Christmas songs, and prefer Bing Crosby by himself, lol!
But that's what makes the world go 'round- somebody has to like them, and it's you!
You  don't wanna be in the Christmas spirit?
What the hell is wrong with you?
I wish I were MORE in it!
Thanks for listening and writing, Scrooge, lol,
Mike

Yeah man, this was cool.  That Van Morrison song was great.  Best I could tell, you named the album that it came from but you didn't name the song.  Anyway, it was very difficult to understand the lyrics.

And those Beatles messages were cool.  Do you have the actual floppies or did you acquire them elsewhere? Just curious.

I Believe In Father Christmas is one of my favorite Christmas songs.  I liked the ELP version as well.  And that Humbug part was on the Vaudeville side.  Nutrocker.  What a great band name that would be.

So great job on part two.  And the Golden Pell to Van Morrison for the song without a name.

I dug this!

I think I have those ELP songs somewhere, just need to find 'em. That's my type of Xmas music, that and metal renditions of Xmas classics. And the Mr Hanky song. And the Billy Squier song. And the Queen song. And the TSO albums. And the December People album. And the Merry Axemas albums. And Bing Crossby with David Bowie.

Yet, I'm still not in the Xmas "spirit". Just don't wanna be.

Thanks!

Bye!
