Classic Rock Bottom

To everything there is a Season, and we are comfortably settled in to this Season of Autumn.
It's just past October, so I'll play my favorite End Of October song.
Fall is now tied with Winter as Best Time Of Year for me!
Lots of Sports going on, a Couch Potato's Dream, lol!
But best of all are the Hues, Shades and Tones of Color everywhere!
I tried this once before years ago, and went deep into the Music Library this time.
Please join me in my NEW attempt to bring you Color Radio!

Jon, that's strange eh, Chicago just stopped & started again!

I never knew.

I like people who burn leaves, not just the smell now but the rebelliousness of it, lol!

I don't know if they can keep the team, Cespedes went empty and Murphy from hero to goat.

It was nice they were in the WS, but they didn't play like they deserved to be, had no passion.

Losing in extra innings, not 3-2 but 7-2...Good God, lol!

RJ,
You agree with Jon...since when, lol?
I'd see The Byrds!
Funny thing is I noticed how when I started with Julie Driscoll, Brian Auger & Trinity, through Donovan, then Neon Philharmonic, and even into the Leslie Gore song, that there was this nice transition, almost seamless and could have passed for one song!
I wondered if people would know when one stopped and another began, lol!
I wish I could take credit for planning that but it just happened that way.
And  the Golden Pell to Leslie Gore- good choice, good song.
Maybe it tanked because it was Leslie Gore, she was trying something different- and her fans didn't like it, and the progressive rock people wouldn't accept her.
I don't know Jamey Johnson's In Color!
And I have in the back of my head an idea for Black & White, not necessarily a Winter show.
And this, "Listening today made me think of Winter, which makes me think of black and white footage of WWII.  Now I'm sounding like Jon."
You ARE, LOL!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

There is a Chicago 13, but if you look at the album cover, there's no number (unless it's well hidden). 16-21 didn't have roman numerals either. so that would be 82-91, right around the time you weren't around music.

Yeah, we can't burn leaves here, even though some people do.

Eh, they made it to the WS which was an unexpected surprise, so I'm happy. Now they just need to keep going so this doesn't turn into a fluke.

Jon,
I may play a set or two for you next week with your love of Leaves.
I always liked walking through them, kicking them, and loved he smell of burning them, although I understand you can't do that anymore in a lot of places.
I never had to rake them, lol!
Hey no kidding, Chicago stopped the Roman numerals for a while?
Must have been when I was away from the music, about 1986-95.
And there's no Chicago 13, why because of the bad luck number?
Ah Beef  Wellington, when my brother was ordained the Jesuits cooked tons of it at a party after- all you could eat and drink, it was a blast.
I cook, and that's a lot of work to make- they did it superbly!
And I thought the whole thing had a laid-back feeling, maybe it turned weird because I went deep into the music, but there was a nice flow to it.
I even said it was weird.
Only you would stare at the picture on the Soundcloud page and be transported elsewhere, LOL!
Hey the Mets just made another error!
That was the worst played World Series I've ever seen, both teams.
But the Royals could come back and the Mets couldn't stop them.
It was embarrassing!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

I agree with Jon.  No, wait a minute, what the heck am I saying?

Good show.  I liked the opener.  The Byrds are scheduled to make an appearance in the AOTW forum sometime soon.  Dan Fogelberg, nice.  Chicago, nice.

That little section of Trinity (or something like that), Donovan and whoever followed him could have passed for one song with some timing changes.  I kind of thought it was until you named three songs.

How in the heck did that Leslie Gore song tank?  That's crazy, cause that's a good song.  It is the winner of the Golden Pell.

My first thought was that Jamey Johnson's song In Color would be great here.  And I still think that.  Maybe you should do a Winter show featuring songs with black and white color themes.  Why?  I don't know.  Listening today made me think of Winter, which makes me think of black and white footage of WWII.  Now I'm sounding like Jon.

Yeah, all those colors are swell when they're stuck on trees. They ain't so swell when they're covering the ground. And then the wind picks up and that sure ain't swell either especially when you thought you were done that day but all those leaves in your neighbor's yard decide to come over to you. So you plan it out and wait for them to pick up their leaves and then you do the same but there's still that other big tree in the backyard that takes it's time shedding leaves and it does so when you done this past weekend and you see them on Sunday but you just don't care and hope a big ass wind comes along and blows them elsewhere because you aren't going to do crap to those leaves until at least Friday. Sure, you could do it Saturday but you already have plans and you have better stuff to do on Sunday's than  picking up leaves.

Yeah. Colors in Fall. Whatever.

Actually, Chicago stopped with the roman numerals for awhile in the 80's and also with Chicago 13, if I'm not mistaken.

I had this urge for beef after listening to The Wellington's for some very strange reason.

Kinda interesting this, the first half of the show mostly had a laid-back, groovy feeling while the second half turned a bit weird, but in a good way. Could be something to do with the design on the Soundcloud page. If you stare at it long enough, you find yourself transported elsewhere.

Nice show!
