ROCKOLLECTIONS: HERE COMES SUMMER PT.2

Damn, Summer has arrived with a Vengeance, it is HOT!!!
More Summer Songs, including one by the Beach Boys not played very often- and if you grew up at a certain time I would have to think they symbolize Summer more than any other Group.
I don't do Summer every year, but when I do I seem to have fallen into a Tradition...or just a Habit, lol!
That will be taken care of in here, and maybe next Episode too.
I must confess I made a mistake by not flipping the Calendar and seeing next week will have the 4th Of July.
So this will NOT be continued next week, rather the following week.
Hey, I didn't go into the dark recesses of the Music Library and pick out some old, dusty Summer Music for nothing, lol!
Stay cool, and I hope you'll be entertained by this!

RJ,
I almost opened a Staples store there, lol!
That's a legitimate Summer song by The Beach Boys that has gotten lost over the years, as has the album 15 Big Ones!
Ah, that element of surprise with Herbie Hancock and Joni Mitchell.
Great vocal by Joni, and fine music by Herbie.
It's true, Jazz can be real nice in Summer.
And the Golden Pell again to Gordon Lightfoot for The Summer Side Of Life.
I kinda thought that would get it, lol!
I haven't even scratched the surface with my Gordon favorites!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
This felt less guilty than the first half, lol!
You referring to Dobie Gillis & Maynard Krebs there with the thing about WORK?
Cool show for a beatnik, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

You played quite a few staples in this show (Gordon Lightfoot, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and The Beach Boys).

I really liked the show as a whole, but the songs by War, The Kinks and Gordon Lightfoot were my favorites.

I was totally surprised by the song you played by Herbie Hancock and Joni Mitchell.  That bad boy was sultry, jazzy and soulful, all at one time.  Very nice job.

But I'm gonna give the Golden Pell to a person who is definitely not a first time winner.  That would be Gordon Lightfoot for The Summer Side Of Life.  Just a tremendous tune.

Enjoyed it Mike.

This felt more summery than the first show.

The Herbie Hancock & Joni Mitchell song was so freaking cool. Brought me back to the time I hung out with Dobie at the local coffee house. Those were the days, the days I didn't have to worry about work. WORK??!!!

Cool show, man. I dug it.
