ROCKOLLECTIONS: HOME FOR THANKSGIVING 2013 PT.2 END

I really miss doing these Thanksgiving shows with Engineer Ken Stanley.
They and the Christmas Shows were the most fun for us each year.
Like every Rockollections, I get to make a statement, send a message.
As I have said many times, Music is my form of a Western Union Telegram.
For this final half, a couple of songs for those who, for one reason or another, can’t Go Home.
Then I will attempt something I never thought of before.
I will present a Thanksgiving Dinner In Song!
Complete with Leftovers.
Most importantly, always remember Everybody has something to be thankful for, not the least of which is being alive and around to BE thankful!
I am certainly thankful for those of you who listen and stick with me, with all my quirky choices of songs and Theme Shows.
So again, I THANK YOU!
And Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

RJ,
Oh I don't know... don't usually back off from a challenge, lol!
But doing a Thanksgiving show from the turkey's point of view might be beyond me, especially with all the distractions of the holiday.
And after REO, I am lost!
That Thanksgiving Day dinner idea came to me in a flash.
If I had thought about it sooner and more, it would have probably been the whole show, lol!
No kidding, Gravy For My Mashed Potatoes was your favorite?
I liked Let's Turkey Trot too, and I get the same reaction with Apples Peaches Pumpkin Pie, enjoy that one.
I have to give Cheap Trick a lot of credit for the daring covers they have chosen over the years.
Love to hear them do Cold Turkey.
Yeah I remember you mentioning John Berry, and that is one touching song.
And the Golden Pell properly goes to one of my all-time faves, The Moody Blues for You Can Never Go Home.
Excellent choice on both our parts!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from your New York friend!
I am thankful for meeting you,
Mike

Jon,
That is a heartwarming story, they should make it into a movie, lol!
You are as loved at home as you are here!
Nice you can get these messages while in line at Best Buy.
Too bad about your place behind everyone- didn't you make a friend at the spot you had, and he'll let you cut in?
Many people hated that John Lennon song when it came out, I was young and not into giving up addictions myself, but it is a strong statement to me now.
Sorry about the great deals missed.
But we all should find out how much we are actually loved, lol!
Although maybe not in your case.
Happy Thanksgiving my friend,
Mike

Hey Mike, you could have done a Thanksgiving show from the turkey's point of view.  You know, something like REO's Time For Me To Fly.  Just an idea.

I really liked your Thanksgiving Day dinner.  That was a cool idea.  The best song of that set was the Dee Dee Sharp song, Gravy For My Mashed Potatoes.  That was a fun song.  Apples Peaches Pumpkin Pie is one of those songs that makes you wanna get up and move.  Cold Turkey was cool, and it seems like I have some Cheap Trick related bootleg stuff that has to do with that song.  I'll have to check.

It's hard to go wrong with Simon And Garfunkel.  That song is just made for a show like this.  Carol King's song too.

John Berry, who I've mentioned before, probably last Thanksgiving for a song he did about home, used to do Celebrate Me Home back in my Athens club days.  It was a big hit, all the ladies loved it.

I'm sending the Golden Pell to:  The Moody Blues (You Can Never Go Home)

That's a nice song.  Happy Thanksgiving my New York friend.  Be safe.

Still in me tent listening to this and it really depressed me. It depressed me so much that I packed up my tent and stuff and headed home so I could be with family on Thanksgiving.

Well, that was a GREAT move on my part. Seems that nobody wanted me around on Thanksgiving and I got bitched out about how plans would now have to change. Seems like everyone was going to Hawaii or Siberia or something like that to celebrate Thanksgiving. My fear of flying and heights had stopped everyone from doing this before and now they had the opportunity yet there I was, ruining the plans for everyone.

I had no choice  but go back to Best Buy and continue my wait in line. Now I wasn't the first one there. Now I was like the hundreth person waiting. Now I'll probably get none of those great deals.

Thanks, Mike!

Oh, not a fan of John Lennon, but this is a good song. I actually liked this show even thought it depressed me and made me miss out on some great deals. Also made me found how how much I'm actually loved.
