Classic Rock Bottom

First off, I have to thank my friends Patrick and Laurie for having those old Thanksgiving and Autumn Shows from 2011.
And for being beyond thoughtful, and nice enough to send them to me.
I guess just about everyone has heard of New York's Times Square.
How about that Hurricane Sandy Rain coming down the steps of the train station?
Coming off Thanksgiving, it is obvious we are not thankful for everything.
Say, like Hurricanes!
One interesting thing about this Series to me is that more people than I can ever remember suggested and asked if I were going to play one particular song.
I had it in mind to play it, but with that many people asking about it- a surprising amount- I thought I'd better START with it in this episode, lol!
Oh, I also criticized FEMA...those incompetent boobs!
But this is about Music, so join me for a Free-Form look at the Storm that will include a Rarity from the Rolling Stones, among other things.
Let me Rock you like a...!

Well, just so you can see how purty Carrie Underwear is:

RJ,
Yes, back to the hurricanes- the effects are still all around me.
Carrie Underwear...I like that, lol!
Well I hope we don't get hit by one, but just off the top of my head I don't think there are as many songs about tornadoes.
I explained the opener, and I think I would have played it anyway, but so many people mentioned it to me I figured I'd just start with it.
And it went nicely with the following song...you know, the famous Golden Pell Neil Young winner, lol!
Funny you heard OF that song, but never actually listened to it.
I got into the great guitar work myself as it was playing, and the way he was going nuts wailing away on it as the song moved along.
By the time it ended he was just crazed!
And it was fun to throw T-Bone Walker and Billie Holliday in there.
Thanks for the listen and writing, and I hope you and the family had a great Thanksgiving,
Mike

Back to the hurricanes huh?  Well, here's a surprise for you.  I saw a country video (thanks to my wife) last night about a tornado (almost a hurricane?).  Anyway, it's Blown Away by Carrie Underwear...I mean Carrie Underwood.  For a country song, it's pretty dang good.  And the video is very nice to watch 'cause she's purty.  So if you do a show about tornadoes, you should look that one up.

Back to hurricanes, the opener is not one of my favorites by that band, though it is a good song.  Probably because it was so over played.  But that album was last week's Album Of The Week here on CRB.

All the songs were cool, especially the really, really old stuff by TBone Walker and Billie Holliday.

The Golden Pell is a runaway for Neil Young.  I've heard of that song, but never actually heard it until now.  It's incredible.  The guitar work is just phenomenal.  His style is so erratic usually, but only in spots on this song.  Great pick brother.
