ROCKOLLECTIONS: JOHNNY CARSON LEAVES TONIGHT SHOW PT.2

Please remember that these shows were originally broadcast in 2007.
That was before Conan O'Brien's brief turn as Host of the Tonight Show
Also add 6 years to whatever I say- for example if I say 15 years, it is now 21 years.
As stated, TODAY, May 22nd was the anniversary of the night Johnny Carson left the Tonight Show.
And you may have noticed a certain trend of "Tonight" songs.
We will continue that, double it, and even triple it!
First up, a real pretty one from Sara Evans.
I'll have a little Carson biography for you, leading right into Karnac The Magnificent.
I will confess to one of my own personal quirks about opening envelopes.
And my opinion that Johnny Carson was not a big fan of Rock & Roll, he was a fan of the Big Band Era, and if I am not mistaken a drummer.
Of all the late night hosts, he was the last to come around to our music.
It occurred to me, that for younger listeners or perhaps those from another country not familiar with the show, I am trying to "Teach You Tonight". Ha!
Any Dion fans out there?- Dion from BELMONT AVENUE IN THE BRONX, NEW YORK that is- here is an alert.
We will have much much more fun to come.
Dah dah dah dum dum...!

I loved Karnac The Magnificent.  That was a great skit.  Dippity Dew...hilarious.  And I also loved it when Ed repeated the answer after Johnny said it.

A lot of "tonight" songs and a "magic" song.  I hadn't heard It's Magic in a long time, so that was nice to hear.  I'm not crazy about the Genesis song, but it fit's well here.

I'll give the Golden Pell to Sara Evans.  She's purty too.  I'm okay with country music, for the most part.

A modern band called 18 Visions had a song called "Tonightless", which would be a good show closer.

Oh...I did not like that Sara Evans song, too country for me. However the Dion song was good, probably as a suprise to some since it's no my "thang". Pilot I've heard oh, probably 1 billion times. Did they have any other songs?

Suprise! The Diana Washington song was TREMENDOUS. I really liked this, but I like big band type stuff. Again, it's the class in me.

You know, I was waiting for that Genesis song. made me want a beer. A beer. A BEER! Sadly, I don't like that song either. So the first and last songs just didn't appeal to me, but you can't win them all!

Filthy stuff with Karnac. No wonder I never watched Carson since it was filled with so much filth!

Hey, did you ever find that pen? Reminds my of a story, the story when I coughed up something at work and it flew out of my mouth and I couldn't find it anywhere. Thought it landed on the computer, but it wasn't on the monitor, keyboard or desk.

A few hours later someone pointed out that I had something on my shirt, and there was the phlegm! I proudly scopped it up with a couple fingers and swallowed that gob back down. Whoo hoo!
