ROCKOLLECTIONS: LOVE AND MARRIAGE PT.4

I'll open this Episode with a sort of Point/Counterpoint concerning the Wedding Ceremony itself.
One song has the Groom wanting a simple City Hall bonding, while in the next the Bride would like the perfect blue sky, birds singing Nuptials in the Chapel.
Just opposite sides of the same coin!
Then three tunes that share not only beauty but a Title.
And after some modest soul-searching, I will reveal the Real Reason I have never married, as lame as it is, lol!
We'll take a break next week for the 4th Of July- I may do a new show but it'll probably be a re-run- then I will continue the following week with our sweeping Musical look at Love and Marriage!
As you may suspect, there is a lot to choose from in that area.
For my part. I hope you'll choose to listen to this Chapter 4!

RJ,
Late's ok, keeps me waiting on the edge of my seat for a thumb's up or thumb's down, lol!
The Bob Dylan song is a good one, been years since I heard it.
No kidding, Wedding Song was played at your first wedding?- and this is funny, "It was not played at my divorce, or at my second wedding."
Another guy on his second, and I am still going for my first- in fact of most of my friends, I have the proud distinction of never being divorced, lol!
And that Stookey song was known for years only to us free-form folkies.
AM radio had long ago dismissed Peter, Paul & Mary, they certainly weren't going to play something from one of their SOLO albums!
John Berry is an interesting guy I have to check out more.
They are not the D-Cups, or I would have seen them in concert, lol!
A lot of people think Gilbert O'Sullivan only had one song, I'll have to prove them wrong as time goes on.
And the Golden Pell to Tracy Chapman.
I have had good luck with you CRB guys picking her songs.
Thanks for the listen and writing, and Happy 4th to you and all your wives, not to mention children my friend, lol,
Mike

A little late, but here we go.  This was good, quite enjoyable.

Got in one staple.  Bob Dylan, and what a fine song it was.  Definitely a contender for the GP.  But not the ultimate winner.

Wedding Song was played at my first wedding.  It was not played at my divorce, or at my second wedding.

Always liked the Percy Sledge track.  John Berry used to do a very nice cover of it back in the day.  I think I have the CD with his studio cover of it.

Chapel Of Love by the D-Cups.

I thought Gilbert O'Sullivan only had one song.

Golden Pell to Tracy Chapman.  That was a wicked cool song.

Nice job.

Jon,
You got it my man, I'm a Toys R Us kid, lol!
And that took up most of your writing!
Yeah, Horsies and carriages are on their way to being outlawed in NY.
But people are suspecting if you ban them, it opens the way to tear down the nearby stables which are near Central Park.
And that is PRIME real estate baby!
Put some high rises there and we are talking billions!
So in typical phoney liberal fashion, all the tears for the horses are nothing more than a horseshit excuse.
God I hate those bastards...one day...oh man!
See now only YOU would even think of this, lol!

"Wedding organ". What did you mean by that? Tee hee hee hee,

I meant the keyboard instrument, DUH!
Yes, guys don't believe in giving advice unless asked, advice is girly, so don't think of any songs, lol!
And yes again, I thought this was the strongest chapter, but hey I just sit down and roll with it- some come out better than others.
Once again, my exposing you to Dylan is making you a fan!
Finally, here is that side of you we all enjoy so much- "Never have watched "It's A Wonderful Life" and never will. The movie title is a lie, therefore the movie is a lie."
What a joy you must be to be around, LOL!
Thanks for the listen, writing and bumming me out, lol,
Mike

Mike Pell. Still a Toys r Us kid.

Mike doesn't wanna grow up, he's a Toys R Us kid
they got a million toys at Toys R us that he can play with
Mike doesn't wanna grow up, he's a Toys R Us kid
they got the best for so much less, it'll really flip your lid
From bikes to trains to video games
it's the biggest toy store there is (gee whiz!)
Mike doesn't wanna grow up, cause maybe if he did
he couldn't be a Toys R Us kid
more games, more toys, oh boy!
He wanna be a Toys R Us kid

Really? Horsies and carriages have been outlawed in NY? That makes "Seinfeld" a really old show. That sucks!

"Wedding organ". What did you mean by that? Tee hee hee hee,

I thought we gave you advice? Probably not, we're guys. We don't believe in advice. Advice is girly.

Anyways, this is my favorite show so far, from top to bottom (yes, even Dylan).

Never have watched "It's A Wonderful Life" and never will. The movie title is a lie, therefore the movie is a lie.
