ROCKOLLECTIONS: LOVE AND MARRIAGE PT.5

After a week off for good behavior, or the 4th Of July, I will continue with our musical exploration of Love and Marriage.
And while June has always been the most popular month for Weddings, more and more people are getting hitched in July and August.
One of the things I long ago realized for this little Rockollections show is that you can tell Stories by playing particular Songs in a particular order!
So the Centerpiece in this Chapter is a Long Set, because to interrupt would have stopped the flow of Storytelling.
So join me.
You see, there is this Couple...!

RJ,
I thought this was a strong episode too.
And  I can't understand Jon and Scott's disdain for Bruce's music either- and I may have more of a reason to dislike him since he's taken to preaching to us about politics!
I like his early stuff because it is simply better.
Queen, Fifth Dimension, Bo Diddley, Al Green- the list narrows for a Golden Pell, lol!
And finally a winner, McCartney over Marty Robbins by a hair!
Good pick, mine would probably have been Laura Nyro!
Funny, I just saw photos of Paul & Linda with David Gilmour at an old Led Zep concert.
Linda was smoking, looked like a cigarette cause it would have been one thick joint, lol!
Thought she was a health nut- but we see what happens to them!
It's like I say, a crapshoot!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
Some days you are a hard man to please, lol!
Going good until Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce eh?
Well, I thought it was all good, and as I have said the listeners are unimportant, lol!
The laugh from Bo Diddley appears on quite a few songs, surpassed only by his Namedropping his own name!
For some real laughs by Bo, listen to his Say Man!
Well at least I increased your desire to watch "Flash Gordon".
In New York, I guess unlike Jersey and near Detroit, we call them JIE-ros, nothing remotely rhyming with Laura Nyro, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Really enjoyed this one.  I just can't understand Jon and Scott's disdain for Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce.  His early stuff is fantastic.  This one was a possible Golden Pell winner.

The Queen, Fifth Dimension and Bo Diddley songs were cool.  And Al Green is always cool.

I had difficulty picking the recipient of the GP.  In the end, I'm going with McCartney over Marty Robbins by just a smidge.  I very slight smidge.  Both songs are terrific and thanks for mentioning the guitar player on the McCartney tune.  I thought the track was outstanding from that point of view as well.

Nice job brother.

So....this starts off really swell with Queen and Fifth Dimension and then it kinda went away with Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce. Then that laugh from Bo Diddley was just kinda weird. Gave me a weird feeling. Sounded like the laugh of a masher.

For the last couple weeks I've been wanting to watch "Flash Gordon" in all it's tacky awesomeness. Now I really want to watch it. Pure 80's cheeze, gotta love it.

Laura Nyro? Now I want a gyro.
