ROCKOLLECTIONS: MLK AND SONGS OF FREEDOM PT.2

Continuing on with our presentation of Martin Luther King and Songs Of Freedom.
I am going to open this one up with another version of the song we left off with.
I will have more biography about Martin Luther King, the greatest of the Pioneers of the Civil Rights Movement.
But there were other pioneers too, including those in music, who were putting themselves out there and singing the same message of equality.
Listen to two of them- Curtis Mayfield with the Impressions, and Nina Simone.
They were really saying it.
Open your ears and mind, and be free!
Oh, forgot to mention on the show that last song is by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young from the live album, 4-Way Street.

I was considered the new Dylan due to my singing in the shower. So you're right. LOTS of people were considered "the new Dylan". Guess you didn't know I was one of them. Now you do.

Sorry, Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuce can do the whole "The Elder" album and I will still think he sucks. That's me. That's how I feel. Deal with it.

I remember the hype about two new Beatles songs when they had that special on tv (ABC I think?). I didn't care too much about the early song, but liked "Free As A Bird". Of course I bought the second CD from the show and it had the old song, not the "newer" one. Bummer.

Curtis Mayfield was ok, when you said he was a "pusher, I thought you were going to go into something else.....

...then when you mentioned Nina Simone, you also started talking about Busboy....and I thought you were going to play something from the BusBoys but then you said "cott" and then you said it again and I thought again you were going to play the BusBoys, but you didn't. Sigh.

Can't go wrong with Neil Young. Can you? Well, maybe "Trans".

And then CSN at the end? From where? Woodstock? You didn't say. You slacked. How the hell would I know what you play if you don't say??????????????
