Classic Rock Bottom

You have heard me mention Namedropping frequently over the years.
That's when a song contains a mention in the lyrics of a Musician, a Group, a Movie Star, a Politician...anyone famous and well-known.
You'll easily know what I mean after after a few songs.
I've been meaning to do shows with Namedropping songs for many years.
It finally starts today, and I will return to it periodically as a now and then Series.
But finally doing this reminded me of the time I met fellow DJ Frank Todd for coffee, and he was stuck for a closing segment to his show.
It also reminds me how much I like a fine establishment out here in Bay Ridge Brooklyn named CT's.
It's like a deli, but much better, in another league actually- great coffee, great food, great prices (no small consideration), with the nicest guys you could imagine who run it.
And all of them terrific Cooks!
So meeting Frank there worked out well for me, as I made some new good friends and found a place to stop for some good conversation and truly excellent homemade food.
And he took my Namedropping suggestion, as we both kicked a few ideas around.
He gave me full credit, and I will even play his introduction where he did so.
Then it will be on to my own peculiar selections.
You see...Frank and I have different styles, lol!
Enjoy!

Yeah I figured, and it sucks when you start and stop.

Would be nice if you listened again, you may have missed something, but I'm happy you listen at all, lol!

Take your time, they stay at Podomatic for weeks.

Yep.  I really couldn't pay attention well.  That's why I waited to listen to part 2.  I'm gonna try to find some time at home to listen to it.  Just all kind of problems at work while I was trying to listen.  Took about an hour and a half.

RJ,
I have to figure your boss is looking over your shoulder, lol!
Excellent choice for the Golden Pell to Aztec Two Step, I told Jon I though it was best.
The actual title is The Persecution And Restoration Of Dean Moriarty, quite a mouthful
Snowed here again today, and I loved it, lol!
Thanks for the secret listen and writing,
Mike

This will be short, I'll say why later.

Golden Pell to Aztec Two Step.  Didn't get the song name.

Rainy day, crappy day.

Jon,
What are you, a Ball        Breaker, lol?
Actually Scott is right, Sweet Home Alabama has Neil Young and his song Southern Man,
That would be a tough song to do live.
And I had a busy week and Sunday, meant to tell you I would play one that could be your theme song.
I will tell you that in Part 2, I'll have one you should like concerning BRUUUUCE!!!
Hey, leave Scott alone...he was correct!
For obvious reasons, I can't play that Chris Caffery song, plus I didn't like it anyway, lol!
Odd it was the Roger MCGuinn you picked to like, must be the 12 string geetar!
I thought Aztec Two Step was best.
Man, never mind Scott, that Chris Caffery was too heavy for ME, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, and the Beatles live forever,
Mike

True... A southern man don't need him around anyhow, ,

Someone should mention to Scott that it's only one name and you never take Neil Young's name in vain.

Someone should remind Jon that Sweet Home Alabamas lyrics do mention a musician. Geez!

So, another Rock           Collections show!

Yep, you did play that one song before. Was going to mention that, but you did, so I won't! Wonder if they ever played that song live. If they did, were the lyrics written down somewhere so the singer wouldn't forget?

the song about not caring should be my theme song. Kinda sums up how I feel about most things (especially Scott posting silly stuff). That song kinda reminded me of "Pisses Me Off" by Chris Caffery, a couple name drops (plus foul language, plus it might be to "heavy" for the old folk and sill folk, like Scott).

The Roger MCGuinn was a really good song. This was a really good Rock              Collections. Good thing Scott didn't ruin it for others.
