No, none of those sound familiar, I'm sure of it.
Real real pretty redhead lead singer, or at least on the song I saw.
In fact, I liked it so much I taped it off the TV onto cassette.
But you know how that goes, where the hell is that cassette?
A needle in a haystack...I don't even look at them anymore.
It wasn't TTWS since they were never on the show. It could be stellastar, the polyphonic spree or jem maybe?
RJ,
Thanks for the songs.
I liked the one by Toad The Wet Sprocket better than Atomic Tom, so I have it now, might play it but I am now top heavy with Present songs- I keep thinking of more of them, lol!
Atomic Tom I might like better if it weren't Live.
Jon,
Guy...girl...I DON'T CARE, LOL!
I must be wrong, but I thought I remembered seeing the band when a guy I really thought was funny, Craig Kilborn, had the Late Late Show.
And I seem to recall a sweet redhead singing...FEMALE!
Guess I'm wrong.
New Constellation is the album by Toad. Don't worry, here is both of them. Atomic Tom followed by Toad The Wet Sprocket. Jon really likes the Toad song (not):
Nice show Mike, despite Jon's lack of caring. I wonder if you really care about his opinion?
Anyway, this show is full of awards:
The Soul Award - Traffic. I had no idea that was Traffic. Really cool sound and song.
The Commercial Award - Carly Simon. Wasn't the song Anticipation used for a ketchup commercial years ago? I'm thinking Heinz.
The Lyrical Award - Pierce Pettis. Moments. "Do you ever look back and see the bridges you are burning?"
The Classic Award - The Drifters and Perry Como.
The Vocal Award - The Four Lads. That is truly a phenomenal vocal performance. Love it.
And finally...
The Golden Pell - Bruce Springsteen and James Taylor (tie). Both of these are really good songs I've never heard before until today. Jon is missing the boat on Bruce. His loss. But he doesn't care and neither do I.
Two songs that would have fit perfectly here are The Moment by Atomic Tom (Scott introduced me to this band a couple of years back) and The Moment by Toad The Wet Sprocket. They were just featured in our New Music Corner and if you click here and go over to track number 8 you can hear it. You can probably find the Atomic Tom song on youtube if you are interested in hearing it.
I don't know what tomorrow may bring, and I don't care.
Great. Bruuuuuuuce. And guess what? I don't care!
I have no anticipation. And I don't care. But I do wish these were the good old days. Actually, now that I think about it, I don't care.
Now this next song? Uhhh.........ummmm......what was it? Sounded like Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce, but couldn't have been. You wouldn't do that to me, would you? Even if you did, I don't care.
I've never had a magic moment. Ever. Not even when I won the lottery. The thrill of having winning numbers is fleeting. When I went to collect, I just didn't care.
I wonder how much money professional whistlers make. Is this something I should look into? Is there a need for whistlers nowadays? You don't have to answer, I was just asking. Not that I care or anything.
I've never had golden moments either. Thought I once had a Golden Ticket and was excited that I was going to visit the candy factory, then I woke up. No more excitement and, of course, I just didn't care.
I tore the goalposts down. The town wasn't happy about that and I was sent to jail. At first I cared, but then realized I would get three meals a day and plenty of sleep so I didn't care. Why wouldn't they watch the show at the drive-in? What were they doing? Not that I care, but why not watch the movie? You paid for it and you wouldn't have anything better to do, would you?
Oh. It wasn't Bruuuuuce. Still, I don't care.
There are no birthdays today
