ROCKOLLECTIONS: PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE PT.8 END

This is it, the Grand Finale to our exploration of the Past Present and Future.
And I think I proved one thing- Music and Radio can offer Time Travel!
Continuing with the Past, I'll open and close this final episode with the same gentleman- a local guy born and bred here in New York City, and a particular favorite of mine.
He issued his first records in 1958, and as I have been insisting for years, has lost neither his voice nor his relevance right up to today.
We tend to look back fondly on the Past, thinking those were the best times and can't be topped.
But in truth we should have learned one thing, that Carly Simon was right- THESE Are The Good Old Days!
I hope you enjoyed this Series.
I had a ball doing it, thinking of songs that haven't come into my head for many years.
Each Chapter has been unpredictable, and that is Radio's biggest failure nowadays.
I wish you a Happy Past Present and Future!
And come back and listen again.

Hey, I actually heard one song before. Whoohoo!

Mary Hopkin "Those Were The Days". It's one of the songs I liked from my Fathers reel-to-reel audio tapes. I didn't know Paul produced it. Always liked the music, but to truly appreciating the lyrics is a recent development. Which supports the widely accepted theory of the time flowing in a straight line.

But... How did we get from songs as beautiful as "Those Were The Days" to "Hammer Smashed Face", is beyond me. Perhaps, time is not as linear as we think it is.

Of course the Dodgers and Giants should have moved. If they didn't, we wouldn't have the Mets.
