The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds is 50 Years Old!
It was released May 16, 1966, and is now regarded as a Concept Album- with Pop, Jazz, Exotica, Classical and Avant Garde Music.
The Beatles answer to it was Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band!
I will recreate the album using inventive Cover Versions by only 21st Century Groups and Artists, with the songs performed in the order as they first appeared!
In 50 Years, Pet Sounds has grown in stature, influence and even sounds better with each listen.
Hope you enjoy these ambitious Covers!

One of the things I likemost about you is you are open to all types of music.
That and your sense of humor in writing.
After that, I am stuck, lol!
No never heard of Lucius or Roadies, I'll try to check them out.
That young girl I am seeing is taking a lot of my time and energy.
IF you know what I mean...and I think you DO, lol!
Yes I do. But I like other types of music as well.
hey, have you ever heard of Lucius? I've been watching "Roadies" on Showtime and it's a good show, it has musical guests like Lindsay Buckingham, but this past week's show had Lucius and I was mightily impressed, so much so that I listened to their first album on Amazon. NOT heavy metal at all, but very enjoyable.
The Cool Ghouls song was pretty good, but the rest (except for the last song)? Yep, got the same vibe as with the first part.
As for that last song, I was impressed that there is/was a group out there that sounded EXACTLY like The Beach Boys. Then to find it was The Beach Boys caused my world to crumble. What a bummer!
But sorry I didn't enjoy this. All the songs except for the couple mentioned all sounded the same to me.
Well, we can't like EVERYTHING, can we?
There are no birthdays today
