Sweet show dude. Loaded with songs.
Loved the Robert Klein clip, Every Record Ever Recorded. Hilarious.
Everyone has heard the Seger song. And most, like me, probably immediately think of Risky Business, except for you, 'cause you don't watch movies.
The next two tracks by Andy Martin and Freddy Cannon weren't particularly my bag, but they weren't bad. But Put Your Records on is horrible. Not really the song so much, but I watch The Voice with my wife and it seems like it's a popular song for these vocal shows (Jon will have a negative comment about that last statement as soon as he can get to his computer).
Never heard Daily Records by The Who, so that was a nice experience. And I love the Aerosmith track, it's so cheeky. Also never heard the original, so I'm glad you played a bit of that.
Now for the possible Golden Pell winners: Mr. Record Man (Willie Nelson), 45 (Elvis Costello) and Rock And Roll Records (JJ Cale). These were all terrific. I thought Cale may take it because of that nice guitar work, but it's too short, so I'm firmly going with Willie Nelson. That's a terrific song.
And now for what you missed: "Then I woke up, mom and dad are rolling on the couch. Rolling numbers, rock and rolling got my Kiss records out". Surrender by Cheap Trick.
You don't have any record stores near you? That seems a bit odd, it being New York. We have at least 3 within 30 minutes from the house, but I don't know if I'll partake this year. Went a couple years ago and when I got the each store, I had no plan. Nothing I was looking for, nothing I wanted. I did buy some stuff, just to buy it, but with no plan, it really wasn't a lot of fun. Wait....
I DID have a plan. I did have something I was looking for but nobody had it. That's what depressed me. Then I found it online so the world was righted in it's axis. I make things happen!
That Who album with "Daily Records" is SEVERELY underrated. Granted, when I first heard it went it first came out, I didn't like it. But thru time, I have found that it is a fantastic album, as well as the followup.
Yep. The ladies like my big ten inch....record. They've told me so. I have it on videotape, for those dounters out there.
You never discussed the difference between 33 1/3, 45 & 78. Why did you lead me on? Do I need to whip out my big ten inch....record? Will that make you talk?
Other than that missed bit of info, this was a nice show. You played the dancing in the underwear song, plus others. I liked it. My big ten inch....record liked it. I can show you how much it liked it. I have photographs. Wanna see?
