Jon,
So she WAS a wiseass AND ignored you!
As for the concert, I remember everything I have ever seen or done.
RIGHT!!! LOL!!!
When I told her that someone asked me to say "hi" she basically said, "yeah, whatever". Biggest mistake she made in her one hit wonder life.
I was in high school when I went to that Ramones concert, I believe it was in 1982 because I'm almost positive Johansen was on tour promoting his album that came out that year. I could have been drunk or stoned when I went (maybe both), so maybe it was in an actual gymnasium or something, but I don't remember that way.
There was a time you weren't jaded?
What the hell did Katrina do, just be a wiseass or ignore you?
David Johansen and The Ramones at a college- now THAT'S the way to enjoy a concert!
I wasn't jaded back then when I met Katrina. I was just passing on a message from a nurse I worked with whose daughter went to school with her. Katrina was a total b*tch to me so I cursed her. Really can't say anything about The Waves though, didn't speak with any of them.
I saw David Johansen open for The Ramones in the early 80's. I swear it was at a college, and it wasn't in a concert venue, it was just in a large open hall. I think it was NJIT, but am not 100% sure.
Uh 0h. I can't stand that opener. Hot Hot Hot...wasn't it in a commercial? Anyway, I've just always disliked that song.
You redeemed yourself on the follow up. And you are right, despite the tons of versions of that song (Dancing In the Street), you played the best and ultimate version.
Back in the dog house with Katrina And The Waves. As Jon would say, get the ice picks out of my ears and quit playing that song.
Redeemed again with Summer In The City. Terrific song. Believe it or not, I really liked the Regina Spektor song. Nice vocal on that one. But I'm giving the Golden Pell to Style Council. Long Hot Summer was great.
Other than the two duds, nice picks buddy.
Oh, and the sound is really low on this show for some reason, had to turn the volume well past 11.
This show kinda sounded familiar, especially with that Katrina song. Man, she was a complete b*tch to me. Not a nice person and, just to vent, I told her she would be no better than a 1 hit wonder. HA!!!!!
For a long time now, ever since seeing "Die Hard With A Vengeance", everytime I hear that Spoonful Of Luvin' song I just want to watch the beginning of that movie.
Regina Spektor? Nice.
Style Council? THat was Style Council? I thought they were more new wavey.
This was nice, except for Katrina.
There are no birthdays today
