I don't see the links you are referring to bro.
RJ, what's with the links?
Damn...STRUMMING?
And GUITAR?
Weird, and when did THAT happen?
This was definitely a folksie show brother. I feel like I should be sitting here strumming my six-string acoustic guitar (except I don't own one).
Box Car Willie. Now there's a name you don't hear everyday anymore. It's been a while since I have heard his name, and probably have only heard of it because of my dad. Not a bad little tune at all.
The John Lee Hooker tune is a bit old for me. I think you said 1948 or something like that. Wow, that's really old. I did like the Simon and friend (can't remember who you said was on it with him) song better. I also kinda liked the Rod Stewart version of the Bob Dylan song. I have that CD by Stewart but I don't think I've ever actually listened to it.
Now, for my money, the Bob Dylan song "I Am The Lonesome Hobo" gets the Golden Pell. I love the simple accompaniment. Just the snare drum, acoustic guitar and harmonica. Really cool.
I know you love Tom Paxton, but that song was just okay to me. Not bad, but not great. You know what they say, different strokes for different folks.
Keep on rockin' (or folkin') bro.
Umm...where was the death metal? It didn't end with death metal! Another nice selection of songs, but the last song kinda annoyed me. Sounds like an 80's ballad tied to a cheap animated movie. Something about a talking cockroach and his travels from one end of the kitchen to the other and the many friends and enemies he meets along the way. And then, as the credits roll, that song plays. Guess cockroaches are kinda hobo-ish, so guess it all evens out in the end....
