Classic Rock Bottom

This was one of those times I sat down to do a show and had nothing in mind.

I was thinking about next week's broadcast and it kind of sneaked up on me that I had to do one for this week.
What was I to do?
Well I had earlier in the week found an unmarked cassette that I threw in the player, and it was Steve Goodman visiting Vin Scelsa on an Easter Sunday on WNEW-FM.
That  became an annual Easter Morning tradition in the mid-70's, and the visits were subsequently released as an album called The Easter Tapes in 1996.
Tell you what, why don't I just open with what I heard and explain how I got here.
A strange show, but I've said that before!

Jon,
I don’t like them either!
That first song or set WAS some stoned people sitting around talking about....whatever, lol!
Did you go listen to the original version of Red Hill Mining Town?
Nobody beats The Wiz, everybody beats the Mets!
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THAT TEAM? THEY SUCK!!!
And what’s the deal with the sheep?
You sometime confuse me, lol!

Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Red. The color of the cornhuskers. Yuck.

Anyhoo, that first set sounded like some stoned people sitting around talking about....whatever.

C'mon. The original version of Red Hill Mining Town is a great song, my favorite off that album. Hearing a cover of it just makes me want to hear the original. Can't beat the original. And nobody beats The Wiz.

Please don't play a Warrant song. Probably won't because the song absolutely sucks.

But you could play a Fixx song. That song doesn't suck.

BaaaAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaa.

That was the sound of a sheep.
