ROCKOLLECTIONS: THE SUNDAY PAPERS PT.5

Well at least it got colder for those Winter Morning Sunday Papers.
I got a few more Songs for the Arts & Leisure Section.
Then, I would hope most of you remember the great Steve Allen!
There was a bit he did where he read Actual Letters To The Editor from the NY Daily News, always angry ones.
The Humor was in Steve’s reading them with the mad passion and emotion of the Letter Writer, and the playful Audience Participation which got all involved in mock outrage!
You had to be there, lol!
At any rate, it’s Angry Letters To The Editor next in our Musical Page Turner for The Sunday Papers!
One more Final Chapter to come.

74-82, and just a Drama Radio Show?

Man, I missed that, it took courage!

My bad, it's Dimension X. Think it was from the 50's.

Nope, 74-82. The last year was hosted by Tammy Grimes.

Jon,
Thanks!
Those Radio Mystery Theater shows and all the others are such throwbacks, and can be real enjoyable.
But they had to be before 74-82, no?
I mean E.G. Marshall?
Rod Serling's "Zero Hour" sounds dynamite!
I always liked Paul Harvey, the cadence of his delivery, and he was common sense interesting.
Abbott & Costello radio shows would be cool.
Don't know Destination X.
So you have these loaded and never know when they'll pop up?
I like the idea of that, you're an idea man, lol!

Good luck!

RMT was on WOR for a long time, maybe from start to finish. It ran from 74-82 and there were 1399 episodes, most hosted by E.G. Marshall. Found the complete series online, they also got Rod Serling's "Zero Hour", a bunch of those Paul Harvey "rest of the story" episodes, a bunch of Abbott & Costello radio shows and the Destination X series. So, I made a playlist on my listening device that includes some of these shows, music and other shows and it's quite fun to listen to while at work. Makes the time FLY by.

Jon,
I tried to make that boring newspaper stuff a little more interesting, lol!
Was Lennon really angry or just making a record- a question to ponder?
Wow thanks, high praise, " The rest ebbed and flowed quite nicely."
I ebb and flow in my personal life.
Which by the way, means I have to get an angiogram on the 30th of the month.
It's considered an operation, on my leg so not close to heart or anything.
I probably have heard some of those Radio Mystery Theater shows.
You amaze me how you find time for all these thing, lol!
But I love that openness to listening you have!
Thanks for the listen and writing, and wish me luck,
Mike

This was pretty good considering what it was about. You know, the boring newspaper stuff.

That's one of the few Lennon songs I can stand.

The rest ebbed and flowed quite nicely.

Hey, I have all the episodes of Radio Mystery Theater. Do you remember that show?
