ROCKOLLECTIONS: VALENTINES DAY 2016 PT.2

This St. Valentine’s Day Edition continues with a solo song from a member of a famous Trio to start.
Then I went to the Oldies Box for a few.
After that, I'll have a Song I've been wanting to play for you for years, but never seemed to remember it.
It's a Love Lost I first heard in 1997, another achingly beautiful one!
For a finish, Songs you should know, and I really like.
I wish you all a Valentine’s Day filled with Love, Kisses, Hugs, Cupids, Flowers and Chocolate, or any combination thereof, lol!

RJ,
The Song Is Love, well a guy wrote me saying how good it was to hear that one again!
So it's a push, lol!
A Double Shot Of My Baby's Love, you got it right.
Great observation, never thought about how  the whole vocal is a group vocal.
Think it's the best ever, this Swingin' Medallions one?
Could be, can't think of a better one, and they are rare!
Janis Ian's Getting Over You I finally remembered to play- think I called it achingly beautiful.
It qualifies because it is Love Lost, not all happy songs.
Never heard the Don McLean song by Perry Como?
As I mentioned, I was very annoyed he had the hit.
Nothing against Perry, but can you imagine him doing a Don McLean song better than Don McLean, especially that one?
And Warren Zevon gets the Golden Pell!
Man, that went right down to the wire, a photo finish, LOL!
I got caught up in that race!
Had a nice Valentine's Day - got a card and a box of candy for a girl I met last March.
I am a hopeless romantic, lol!
Thanks for the listen and writing, hope you and the wife had a great Valentine's Day,
Mike

Jon,
Funny but that's how I thought you felt last year.
But I didn't do Valentines last year.
I think it's just things like Valentines, Christmas, all things we OTHER people like you are not in the mood for, LOL!
Those SCAM Holidays for the card companies...and florists.
Unless Warren Zevon is in it, because, well, it's Warren Zevon, LOL!
Thanks for the listen and writing, you old romantic,
Mike

The Song Is Love...meh...

I don't know, it's Saturday morning and I'm not really feeling it...until you played A Double Shot Of My Baby's Love (or whatever the official title is).  I love how the whole vocal is a group vocal.  That doesn't happen often, and this is probably the best ever.  The Swinging Medallions, nice.

Janis Ian, Getting Over You is up next.  Never heard this one, but I love sad songs, so let's see how this one is.  I think you nailed it brother, this is a very haunting song, though it would seem out of place for Valentine's Day.  I thought it was supposed to be happy love.

This song I'm really liking has to be Don McLean.  I've never heard it, but that's my guess.  It's followed by a most familiar tune.  I'll Have To Say I Love You In A Song by Mr. Croce.  That's a definite classic.  Good pick there.

Yep, it's Don McClean.  This one is easily leading for the Golden Pell.

Let's see if the closer unseats him.  It's Warren Zevon.  Oh, I'm liking this a lot too.  Wow, what a decision. Okay, the song isn't finished, but it's amazing.  I'm going with Mr. Zevon for the Golden Pell.

Hope you Valentine's Day is great bro.  The wife and I don't really celebrate it, other than getting a little something for the kiddos.

I don't know what's going on, but I just wasn't feeling this.

Except for Warren Zevon because, well, it's Warren Zevon.

I'm just not in the Valentine's mood, I guess.

It's a scam holiday anyway.

For the card companies.

And florists.

And convenience stores.

The songs were fine.

I just wasn't feeling it.

Sorry.
