ROCKOLLECTIONS:VOL1-SONGS INSTRUMENTAL TO POP PT.2

Continuing with more Songs Instrumental To Popular Music and Rock & Roll!
I will again ease you into the Rockers after a maybe mellow set that is a Musical Travelogue without Words.
Beginning with a man’s name I thought I’d never use, lol!
It’s a funny thing about Instrumentals, they’ll stick in your head from childhood, leaving you wondering how you know them.
And there are no words to help you out!
I’ll play what I think is the First Monster Rock & Roll Instrumental from the ’50’s, that twangy guitar standing out proudly!
After that, I’ll just let the Rockin’ Muse take me- some you’ll know, some you won’t.
There will be more of these Instrumental Shows on an irregular schedule, moving up through the years as we go along- this is just Volume One!
And there are more Words written here than you’ll hear, lol!
This will be fun!

Jon,
Yes Lawrence Welk...somehow I feel dirtier than when I played those Sex songs, LOL!
I NEVER EVER imagined I would say that name on my show- but it was a hit, is catchy, and I remember hearing it.
Oh what the hell, it’s only Music!
Are you implying Marlin Perkins was uncool, lol?
See? Familiar, you know them!
What Theme Song from Sly?
I am thinking, tough question.
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

If there are few words in the song, they can still pass as Instrumentals, but la-la's, handclaps an uooh-uooh's are stretching it. And so does the first part of your show with Big Bands and Showtunes. Rockollections?

Nothing was familiar here (and that's not a bad thing) except the Sleep Walk, which is a perfect Island music. ;-) A bona fide hit.

Lawrence Welk??!!

What next? Will we have to watch an episode of Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom and then some Hee Haw?

Yeah, these are very familiar. But, if you keep this going, remember you need to play my theme song courtesy of Sly & The Family Stone.
