ROCKOLLECTIONS: VOL2- NAMEDROPPING PT.2

There are some Namedropping songs that if you blink- don't pay attention for a moment- you'll miss them.
Others hit you over the head, the Namedropping is even in the title!
That's the case with the opening song in this Chapter, some New Music too, just came out at the end of March.
Then a guy I am a huge fan of, who died a few years ago, known as The Originator, or Architect, when it comes to Rock & Roll!
This Artist's Rocking Rhythms and Electric Guitar playing still influence people.
Nobody, and I mean nobody, comes close for Namedropping HIMSELF in Song over a long career!
Then a song that Namedrops HIM!
And the Final Word for this show goes to a gentleman who's been doing it since the early 60's and continues today.
The Undisputed King Of Namedropping!
I like Namedropping Songs, been collecting them for years.
And I may continue them next week, as I have been too lazy to think of a new topic for a show.
Hey gimme a break, it was a Holiday Weekend, lol!

RJ,
Like I told Jon, there are 3 songs I REALLY like on the Ringo Starr album- in one he Songdrops Beatles tunes.
But that's after only one listening, ah, maybe save your money.
I want to do a few shows about that Bo Diddley rhythm pattern known as "Shave & a haircut, two bits".
You'll find not only Magic Bus by The Who, but the Doors, Bruce and many MANY others!
I don't want to give them away, lol!
I forgot to say that Nikita Khruschchev was who he was Namedropping.
Hey Cruise Ship? A mondegreen, lol!
And  the Golden Pell to Willie Nile again.
Never mind he now has two of those in his career.
He got two in BOTH halves of the SAME show!
That's unprecedented!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Jon,
BOINK? Get your ears out of the gutter, lol!
On the new Ringo album, there are 3 songs I really like, that was one of them.
Others are alright, few are bad.
I caught it, but shouldn't it be diddley?
You like Dylan now, you are growing up my boy, lol!
I am so proud!
Thanks for the listen and writing,
Mike

Okay, got my notes now.

The Ringo Starr tune was pretty cool.  I thought about picking up that album but to this point have decided against it.

The Bo Didley section was interesting.  I really know nothing of his music.  That first one has the same rhythm pattern as Magic Bus by The Who.  Did you notice that?  The other track that grabbed my attention was Mr. Khruschchev.  I could have sworn for almost the whole song he was singing Hey Cruise Ship.  Then it hit me right before the end of the song.  Again, I listened at work so I can't always give it a hundred percent of my attention.  But the song was cool.

That second Willie Nile song was good too.  And the Dylan tune was kind of funny, but cool none the less.

So nice show bro.  I'm giving the Golden Pell to Willie Nile.  I think he now has two of those in his career.

Dang it, I listened today and made notes, then left the notes at work.  I started to try to remember some of it, but I'll just wait until tomorrow and bring home my notes then.

I thought you said "boink" instead of "blink" at the beginning of the show. I had to listen to it a couple times and it could go either way.

This was a good show, the Ringo song was better than I expected. Some of his stuff like, some not so much. Not that I've ever picked up a Ringo studio album, at least that I can remember.

The next few songs I didn't know diddly about, now I do. (Let's see if you catch what I did there.)

The Dylan song was quite good. I guess I kinda do like Dylan now. Must be my age or something.
